People outside Palace keep talking about whether Roy goes now or in the summer as if he might stay when he has already publicly stated this is his last season at the club. Also, if 90+ percent of the fanbase think Roy should go how much more untenable can it get? Literally the only reason for Roy staying at the moment is if no-one else will take the job.

I tend to agree. It looks like he's lost the players too but it's hard to know. Roy's position seems hopeless/ untenable. Surely we're actively looking for someone.

Adam Wharton is getting significant recognition for his contribution.

Less so, Daniel Muñoz, who I think will turn out to be a gem of a right back. His attacking instinct was there for all to see last night and I reckon he'll thrive under Glasner.

Both are excellent additions.

Totally agree.
Maybe Munoz can give Mitchell some help on his game so he can start to fit in to our new system going forwards.

Both are excellent additions to our team, Wharton being the standout.

Well done Dougie and crew in getting them to sign for us. Good bit of shopping.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Agree all round with the comments.

I'm not sure what happened in the summer with Holding, Henderson and Franca but this is exactly where we should have been.

Wharton & Munoz two players who've come immediately into the first team looking like improvements and players who'll only get better going forward.

Good work Palace.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Wharton is everything our recruitment should be.

After bedding in last season he's set the championship alight this season. Excelling in areas that players normally struggle with at a young age (composure, tactical awareness, vision).

And we've got in quick (not waiting for the summer) and put faith in him.

It was clear watching him in the Championship that he wouldn't struggle with the step up.

IMO Munoz hasnt really done anything impressive yet, however he is full of running and overlaps a lot (just isnt really getting the ball)

The progression of Eze, Olise and now Wharton from the Championship will hopefully encourage other talent in that division to look to Palace as the stepping stone instead of some of the bigger clubs.

Jack Clarke from Sunderland could be the next one?

Both look like fantastic acquisitions.

I honestly think that with Eze and Olise playing we could challenge 6 or 7th next season.

IMO its complete misalignment across the club on what type of player we need for what role.

Hopefully with OG there will be a much more coherent transfer strategy. e.g. whist Holding may have been a reasonable purchase for the fee, he doesn't possess the skills OG needs so isn't purchased.

Nothing but pure speculation from me MrRobbo but I had assumed, in tandem with keeping Roy for another season, buying a PL CB for peanuts, a GK just because he was available and the purchase of a supposed Brazilian wonderkid was representative of hubris from the board in thinking we'd be absolutely fine this season and could therefore spend money somewhat fancifully, rolling by with the same old manager. That went well...

One of the most bizarre moments for me last night was seeing our right-back closing down Pickford! He was far more involved in our attacking play and looked a real threat. Might be worth a bet for him to score on Saturday (not that I bet). Wharton still a fraction too slow with his decision making, but he looks class. It seems to be a common theme with central midfielders making the step up to the PL. You don't get a second on the ball before being closed down.

Wharton and Munoz. The complete antithesis of Henderson and Franca. As a smallish club we cannot afford to buy players that don’t improve the team and I’m afraid to say neither Henderson or Franca have.
