What about Rooney & Pardew for another couple of out of work contenders? And then there’s Colin. As much as I can’t wait to see the back of Roy at this stage it would be a massive gamble for him to go now.

I believe he's heading to Aberdeen. If it were my choice we should of gone in for Rangers FC Phillipe Clement.

I was going to type this as tongue-in-cheek but the more I think about it lets bring in Neil Warnock on a short-term contract until the end of the season.

He will fire everyone up and hopefully bring out the best of the decent players we do have.

He is also a younger man than what we have.

With Hodgson needing to either step down or be relieved of his duties after the dismal recent performances I've put together a small list of just some of the managers who are currently without a club. Palace obviously is not a very attractive looking club for anyone to manage at the moment, but surely at least one of these managers would want to be up to the task. Just interested in everyones thoughts.

Graham Potter
Frank Lampard
Jose Mourinho
Hansi Flick
Antonio Conte
Steve Cooper
Sam Allardyce
Javi Gracia
Ralph Hassenhuttl
Jesse Marsch
Andre Villas-Boas
Lucien Favre
Laurent Blanc
Chris Hughton
Paul Heckingbottom
Claude Puel
Steve Bruce
Roy Keane
Rafa Benitez
Julen Lopetegui
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Why does it have to be a free manager, go and buy out the best possible target we can get, you don't assemble a squad of expensive signings and give them the cheapest available option to mould them into a team, it's the reason we don't progress or are searching for fire fighters so often.

I think Graham Potter is the only option worthy of getting us to play a more attacking style with the players we currently have available...

From EFLIndex.com

"Speaking back in 2007 as Inter Milan boss, Mourinho said: “London is perfect. My family is happy living here. If it is not working at Chelsea, then Crystal Palace or somebody else.”

More recently in 2014, Mourinho revealed: “They [Palace fans] are noisy, they support their team, they put pressure on ¬opponents and the referee. But that’s nice, so I’m happy to go to Crystal Palace.”

A potential return to the Premier League would be box office for the whole of the league and Mourinho could make a brilliant partnership alongside the Palace supporters."

Potter or Lopetegui the only options there for me.

Absolute no to Lampard!

Getting Jose Mourinho would be amazing if Roy goes, but I have a feeling he might be needed back at Chelsea soon.

Mind you, looking at that list and listen very carefully because I will say this only once, maybe Herr Flick is a good choice?

All those names and of course there has been speculation in the media and of course on HOL.

One has to consider the notion that certain managers who have been mentioned might simply not entertain joining a club at this stage of the season only to be thrust into a relegation battle with the possibility that the 'Trapdoor' could open. The 'Transfer Window has slammed shut, accordingly no further purchases are permitted.

Some managers might consider the injury records of Eze and Olise, make a judgement on the rest of then squad and think "Not for me" !

It's usually only teams in a relegation battle that look to appoint a new manager mid season. Not many go into a job where they're in with a chance of winning the league.
