Forest and Luton have eight games to overhaul an eight point deficit to us, for us to go down. That's already three wins from eight required. Or two wins and three draws. And that assumes that we lose every remaining game. If we win just one of our final nine games, that requirement goes up to 12 and both of them needing to win half of their games. Very very unlikely. Oldham closed an eight point gap on us with three wins in the last week of the season all those years ago to send us down, so although I make you right it’s unlikely, those of us of a certain age who were celebrating staying up in the last home game in 1993 won’t be sharing your optimism just yet

I was around in 93 and long before , i have not had any fears for several weeks (i had a little wobble after the Brighton game) we are home and hosed for staying up and would hope that with returnees from injury we will improve our performances and results. I know we have City and Liverpool coming up but City hate playing us we are to them what Fat Sam and his Bolton team were to Wenger and his all conquering Arsenal team

It should also be remembered that they have to play each other. They can't both win! I have us as pretty much safe already but would like to get to 34 points to be sure. I separate games into Relegation battles, top sides and also rans. Everton have a big shout in who stays and who goes. Of their remaining 9 games they have 5 relegation dog fights and 4 top sides. Unless they pick up points from the others they are doomed. But as usual I think they will do it. Four of those five are at home! So the ball is in their court. Luton have to play a lot of mid table sides compared to the others. .......to play....Top sides.......Relegation battles. Edited by The groover (31 Mar 2024 12.15pm)

I suspect we will comfortably survive with our lowest points tally and worst goal difference in all our 11 seasons in this division. In any other year...

I think we can get six more points, and in most seasons 36 is enough to just stay up. Not great this season but it’s been an injury nightmare. Amusing listening to Pep moaning about injuries, their bench costs more than our entire squad / ground / club

I think we will get a surprise win against City or Liverpool as both teams have a fixture pile up imo

Answer = NEVER in 31 attempts. We'll probably lose (1 win, 2 draws and 7 defeats at home to them in our current PL run)
