Very.

I find the idea that Andersen and Guehi, who mark better strikers every weekend, would struggle to contain Glenn Murray quite hard to believe.

Great squad and loads of great nostalgia around it, but if we’re honest I don’t think it’s close in terms of quality.

I agree. Assuming the current lot includes a fit and on form Olise and Doucoure, they would walk it like a knife through hot butter. It would be like a cup game against lower league.

In the last 10 years, the quality of the game has improved, the physical conditoning of the players has improved, the mind training has improved, the quality of the opposition has improved blah blah blah. I genuinely believe our U21s would give them a game.

Current team v 91 team under Sir Steve. Now that was a team.

Wright and Bright up against MG and Anderson.
Ninja and Thorne would eat any of our front line.

Problem is they would ACTUALLY eat them.

That’s the spirit we’re missing, we need to buy a couple of ‘orrible fvckers to toughen it up a bit.

Correct, but in the current game, they would not stay on the pitch for more than 20 minutes. In that time, the team will have conceded 18 needless free kicks and we would be 9 men and 3-0 down from dead balls with 70 minutes to play.

2012/13 team would walk it . No contest , men against boys IMO. Bolasie Jedi Wilf all and and the rest in their prime . Just bat sh1t crazy . They didnt care who they were up against you turned up there you were gonna get a game .

They also failed to win a game for 2 months at the business end of the season, getting humped by Brighton, Birmingham (0-4 at selhurst, I think Redmond had a brace), Blackpool and Ipswich on the run in. We limped into the play offs against a s***e Peterborough side, having failed to beat Millwall the week before.

Great team, great achievement, but the idea that a back four including Ramage, Delaney and Moxey could compete at this level is just nonsense. KG was about 3 stone overweight ffs. Owen Garvan had the athleticism of your average darts player.

What a bloody strange reply - maybe stay off a forum if you don’t like exchanging opinions, it’s kind of the whole point in it.

For my opinion the most enjoyable and proficient team I’ve witnessed is the ~90-91 Steve Coppell team that had star quality, grit and an attacking minded manager! Of course there were blips along the way!

Martyn
Humphrey
Shaw
Young
Thorn
McGoldrick
Gray
Thomas
Salako
Wright
Bright

Maybe Olise for Eddie? Happy days!

Sounds like a perfectly good reply to me, i agree with croydon-trucker the thing you forget is the quality of manager we had at the time

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

His reply had nothing to do with comparing the squads, he’s just apparently upset that someone dared to have a different view on a messageboard, which is strange.

Its also strange talking about the quality of a manager who’s achieved nothing in management and now seemingly packed it in.

Your reply to him also had nothing to do with comparing squads. You didn't like his opinion, he commented, imo you were rude to him. Perhaps you stay off 'board for a while if it upsets you so much.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
