Don't get me wrong, I've got a lot of time for Ayew, but a few years ago there were a lot of people slating him. As ASCPFC said, it just goes to show the lack of progression now he's perceived as the rock of the side.

Agreed. The longer the season goes on the lower the bar gets as well. If it’s a choice on the left of Hughes (no), Schlupp (not as a starter), Eze (out of position) , Edouard (out of position)and Ayew, then Ayew wins it hands down.

I still say not replacing Wilf with a proper left wing has been our biggest mistake. Too much pressure on Olise/Eze to perform.

Now, whilst Olise is out then Ayew will probably be nailed in for right wing with Schlupp on the left. We will certainly look more balanced against Sheffield (well I hope so anyway).
