Hilariously valuing us at 750 mil. There are some shareholders trying to make a profit. 350 mil would more than cover any investments and give a profit. 750 is literally tripling any investment. I'll hazard a guess nothing will come of this - not soon anyway. I'd gladly be wrong.

What job is that then? Reinforcing the squad or appointing a more modern manager?

None of us know how close we are to making signings this window. Or how many. As far as a 'more modern manager' is concerned I'd say that was subjective. Parish felt 6 months ago that Roy was capable of taking us through to next summer without getting into serious relegation trouble. Unless he has changed that viewpoint I doubt he sees Roy as the dinosaur that you do.

Before you start assuming that I wanted Roy, I didn't. Where I'm guessing we differ is that once the decision is made that Roy is the manager I feel us fans have an obligation (if we want the best for the club) to accept that decision and get behind the team instead of whining. Its not as if Roy will be here beyond May. The new manager conversation will be only a few months away when Roy has fulfilled his contract.

Thanks EM13 that's an insightful read.

I'm still looking predominantly at our finances regarding transfers but I suppose that will be forever held under lock and key, especially if it equates to £0!

So Parish’s in tray atm

1. Team not performing
2. No money to improve it
3. Manager not getting the results
4. Building work is more than we can afford
5. Fans unhappy

I can understand why he is talking to a football club sale specialist!

Cannot realistically see any sale going ahead until any prospective buyers know which league we will be playing in next season.

Although I’m not a fan of Parish and it’s not exactly exciting to watch at the moment I just feel that some people should be careful what they wish for.

If they're aiming to build an expensive stand and we go down, I would put good money on us not filling the stadium (whether increased capacity or not) in the Championship.

If it really is a good business case to spend huge money on a new stand (£150m quoted on that Mail article) and Parish really does want to find some money to spend to fund a new stand, maybe he shouldn't have signed Dean f***ing Henderson for £20m on £100k a week. I'd far rather he'd done the generally accepted trick of having/signing a good late thirties keeper who didn't mind being reserve to warm the bench, Scott Carson style. Not only had we just come up with an excellent song for super Sam Johnstone, but he's actually just a far better keeper than Dean Blunderson.

Rant over. Please can we sign someone on loan/for free that can play on the wing in the next week.

True, but if we're not starting off anywhere at least realistic then nobody's going to interested regardless.
In a way, it's a plus. We won't be worth two bob in the championship so the investors may want to protect their investment now. Clutching at straws, I know.

Fair one..!!

So as Chairman - wouldn’t you put these items in priority..??

So if it were me I would say:

1. We’ve set a strategy to invest in youth, so the academy and recent signings - current Manager not embracing the strategy and/or incapable integrating obvious talent into the first team delivering sub standard results / performances..
2. On from one replace Manager that will embrace the above - then get a realistic appraisal of where additional recruitment / resources are required, given the resources and talent already to hand.
3. Discuss plan with other investors - make clear that unless investment / funds
made available now there is a real chance we will be relegated so all shareholding’s, investments and overall club value will be significantly diminished.
4. On from 3 I will remove my ridiculous insistence on having equal voting rights and bring it in line with my shareholding - whilst still offering my services and full attention to the running of the club.
5. On from points 2 and 3 - transfer window closes at midnight on 1st February 2024 - so funds need to be made available now - to give us the opportunity to make best use of funds to ensure best quality recruitment for the areas identified - be that loan or purchase.
6. Complete points 1 through 5 - should bring the fans back onside - without their support and backing we are nothing.
7. On the basis that all that goes we retain our Premiership status then I think a real conversation needs to be had around club strategy and direction - I maintain that we need to complete the construction of the new stand to increase attendance and revenue.
8. On 7 I regret that this got mentioned in the press today - given that we currently have more pressing priorities and that fans may have taken this to mean I am on my own flight of fancy / egotistical journey whilst ignoring the current extremely pressing priorities.
9. In the meantime Raine can take a watching brief for the remainder of the season - so that at earliest opportunity in the close season we can all assess board structure, requirements and priorities - both on and off the pitch.

That’s what I’d be doing if I were Steve - will he, will he heck..!!

Well I can't see whatxall the fuss is about now.

We have signed an exciting young prospect with European experience to strengthen the squad.

This marquee signing has though exhausted our funds so that is business done for the window.

Another coup by Dougie and Steve!
