I guess I could research it but why bother? I get the feeling Roy is not the resigning type. I have no idea why I think that.

I get the feeling Roy is not the resigning type. nor was Pardew. Who played a more exciting football and lost a ton of games. got a poor result ? blame some of the players. Our midfielders are often invisible. Our 'keeper is not as good as Guaita nor Speroni. Some of our defenders are getting old and slow. my only criticism of Roy is his reluctance to bring on Subs for the final 20 minutes. Another criticism of Palace generally was Milivojovic & Benteke......we continue to start players proven to be not good enough. And underperformers have not gone away. Still with us today.

Yes, indeed, Roy does blame players. But not sure he blames the correct ones. Can he change? Not so sure.

"Understand that Roy Hodgson is set to remain in charge of Crystal Palace for next week’s game against Sheffield United after holding talks with chairman Steve Parish after Arsenal defeat. That and games against Brighton and Chelsea will be crucial in determining his future — Ed Aarons (@ed_aarons) January 23, 2024" So no new manager bedded in and no transfers. Great

Yes, indeed, Roy does blame players. But not sure he blames the correct ones. Can he change? Not so sure. I can answer that. He can't. At 76 if he changes at all it's probably due to a medical episode. I'm in the same age cohort and even the idea of changing exhausts me.

Sheffield will be there for the taking. The two games after that....much tougher. And so, of the next possible 9 points...what would be optimistic ? 3+1+1 = 5 very optimistic, i reckon. For Roy or anybody else for that matter.

Well it looks like he will have his talisman Jordan Ayew back for Tuesday given the Afcom results yesterday. I am sure that Olise will be pushed to be fit as well , and Rak Saki will be in the frame so there should be no excuse on the players availability side

You would anticipate that he would fly back to the UK Thursday, although sometimes players take the opportunity to grab couple extra days to visit extended family whilst they are back in their home region, certainly hope that's not the case this time with Originally posted by stancummins

I've read a few optimistic approaches here and much as I would like to follow, the facts are indisputable. Although you have some top defenders, the way they(and the rest of the team) react in set pieces is of a much lower level than they really are. Without an addition in the RB position as soon as possible we are in trouble. An for God's sake lets try being a little more attack-minded. Week after week it has been proven that the philosophy of sitting back hoping not to concede a goal is wrong. Also, we must use the best in each position. I don't think its so bad to splash out 10.000.000 for one of the two right backs of whom there have been rumours lately, after the summer recruitments we have made. Of course I am unaware of what might be going on behind the scenes. COYP!

It's vital for him and us that he is brought along carefully to enable; A full recovery that will mean, when he does start, he's not liable to break down again. Then he'll be able to help us for the remainder of the season. Patience. To save him from the possibility of causing irreparable damage that could affect his career. After all, he's a gem that deserves to grace our game(no matter who for) for years to come.
