This post has been merged from a topic called 'Board discontent ' by becky It's not just about having xxx amount to spend though is it? Analysing the players that one does have and playing them to their strengths surely makes more sense than imposing a one size fits all square peg round hole negative tactical approach ala Hodgson.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Board discontent ' by becky IMO, the best way to show discontent/demonstrate is not to turn up to games @ home. I know people have paid for their ST's, BUT, an empty stadium is not good PR on TV. No matchday income from the club shop, no matchday income from the bars, no matchday income from the food outlets, do that a few times, the Board will soon take note. Just my thoughts.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Can change that to football discontent, no longer a sport, its now a soap opera with var and the refs playing the villan every week, giving it as much media attention as possible. I'm bored of it now. Yep thats the strength of it . I'll be Palace till the day I die but myself and many thousands up and down the country are getting our 'football fix' at non league grounds every week . Attendances are well up and its all down to people like us being sick to the back teeth of what we are having to put up with in the premier league .

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Board discontent ' by becky This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium protests' by becky It seems that the general malaise that the club has shown at boardroom level is now spreading through the fans and whole club. The failure to invest in the squad over the last 2 years (since Vieira was appointed) has left Roy with a hugely imbalanced squad. It's like we've done half a job and then left it. We are now slipping backwards as a result. If the board got a couple of players in earlier in this window then that may have given the fans a lift. Instead we are waiting to see if anyone comes in at all. It wouldn't surprise me if there are no additions. I commented after the summer window that I wouldn't be surprised if there are problems at board level and I think now it appears this is probably correct. SP has become a remote figure, who only posts on social media when there is good news. That hasn't happened much recently. Expect a bumpy/boring end to the season.

I am not in charge, but if I had been after surveying the mayhem I However That won't happen given the egotistical make up of our board If you owned the club and were in charge and you have had enough, you dont resign, you find a buyer.

... If Parish is waiting to the end of the season to install a new manager and buy some players, he may well have to communicate this to fans. If he is not, or does not, I wouldn't be surprised to see discontent and grumblings soon turn to very real anger and the antics to demonstrate this toward Parish et al. I can understand why he wouldn't communicate what seems very likely to be his plan, but likewise he then has to accept people who pay a lot of money to watch this sh*t are going to want to voice their dissatisfaction. Similarly, if Roy wants to play seven or eight defensive players and we don't score he has to accept people are going to give him sh*t. Given how bad the performances and results have been this season I think the board and Roy have got off pretty lightly. I really hope the club have a couple of transfer Aces up their sleeve as the club could really do with a lift right now.

I'm not even going to waste my time even trying to justify the this thread. I'm tired of repeating myself.
Do we start making banners on all four sides at selhurst? Do we do what other clubs have recently done and throw object's onto the field to disrupt the game?
I truly think next season our time is up after our 12 year stint in this league. our top players will be sold. . . . . If you look who is likely getting promoted in the likes of Leicester City. Leeds and Southampton. We won't be getting the Lutons or the Sheffield Uniteds and Burnleys of this season. Which is the only reason why we aren't in the bottom 3 now. These teams promoted are ready made prem sides with far more quality and will have far more money to spend and will attract better players than what we could!!
I'm very interested to see what everyone's views are on this Having looked at your profile, I'm surprised you're the same age as me. You must remember the decade+ we spent in the Championship, Edgeley Park, Hillsborough etc? All you have to do is look through the current Championship and League One tables and see numerous clubs with bigger stadiums and fanbases and a more successful history than us, who would bite your hand off to be where we are today- which by the way is the most successful period in our history. There is an assumption from some that we should automatically be finishing higher in the table each season, without considering there are 19 other clubs in the division also trying to do the same. Perhaps we should overspend like Everton and Forest have? Football is a results driven business and results will always take priority over entertainment. Without Eze and Olise on the pitch at the same time, we simply don't have the quality to play any other way than being gritty. We're going through a minor rough patch which will not jeopardise our PL status this season. There is no need to get your pants in a twist. The issue - which I think we're all feeling - is the general boredom of being a consistent mid table team with very little excitement. It's what Charlton had 20 years ago and is just the reality of the situation - that's not the boards fault. Good luck with the protest.

This banner is relevant though, must say. That is where the discontent stems from. Fans didn't turn up the first few PL seasons, booing and moaning because we were battling relegation. We all knew where we were and what the challenge was but we backed our famous red and blue to the hills. I mentioned previously but it is very hard to drum yourself up for each game when you don't feel any real vision or plan is in place. Parish's talks of a top ten finish and bigger stadium are even more insulting now and just about every other club buys players and gets new managers in frequently these days, we do neither. It's a sorry state of affairs. 1 win in 11, 0 goals scored over two cup legs leading to an early exit, a weak squad, no signings to boost the first team and Hodgson still at the helm serving up utter dross which is designed to do nothing more than try to keep us out of a relegation battle. I don't blame nor have any ire against Roy though, he's just doing the job he's been asked to do and I am still very grateful for what he has done here. I do not wish to see us return to the C'ship or be in a relegation battle, I wouldn't actively yearn for that, but I've never seen such discontent and general malaise in enthusiasm from our fans. That was set to last only a short period though, as sincere rumblings were due to happen sooner than later. You can easily see this gathering momentum and becoming a very vocal movement. If Parish is waiting to the end of the season to install a new manager and buy some players, he may well have to communicate this to fans. If he is not, or does not, I wouldn't be surprised to see discontent and grumblings soon turn to very real anger and the antics to demonstrate this toward Parish et al. Like this post, &, a good one on the beeb as well.

People seem to think expressing a view on social media is going to influence how a business is run, it isn’t. If you can’t change anything, why lose sleep over it, it’s only a game.
