If memory serves me right Parrish has talked about how he talked to Bournemouth about signing Ings when he was there and agreed a 500,000 fee only to see him go to Burnely shortly afterwards.

A proven finisher at the top level. We would be foolish to turn down if reasonably priced and available.
Edouard so far 15 games (this includes not starting) and 6 goals (If continues at same rate end of season 15 goals not too bad)

We got a few good games out of 'em but Tambling, cooke, whittle, birchenall, Wallace and 'yogi' Hughes all spring to mind.

Those players you mention were good signings in my opinion? Some better than others, Whittle, Birchenall and Tambling gave a good service and Yogi was exciting to watch even if it was a short period of time. Cooke had a drink problem when with us but returned to Chelsea and again gave them a good two seasons more as he got over the problems he had whilst with us. That Alan Whittle winner up at Sunderland in the FA cup (quarter final 1976 I think) was one of my most memorable Palace matches and I only saw the second half as our train broke down on the way up there. Plus we only got in the Sunderland end and when he scored my mate and I just smiled at each other, otherwise we wouldn’t be here today :-)

Another non-scoring striker, frequently injured, at the end of his career. No thanks.

Was going to give my thoughts on Ings but reading the last post I couldn't improve on that
