He'd undoubtably improve us, he's a quality player. However, my guess is that even with a big pay cut he's out our price range (particularly when compared with the stupid salary he's on in Saudi). On Talksport they were saying that he'd owe £7m in tax to Saudi if he doesn't doesn't honour his two year contract, so that could prove a huge stumbling block for him. I also think that he'd be looking for a 2 year contract minimum if he came back to the Prem and given his age, I can't see Parish offering it due to our apparent rule on 30+ year olds. It would also stunt the growth of Ozoh who looks like he will be the next successful academy graduate. Whilst a 6-month loan would suit us, I don't think it would suit him. Just can't see it happening. If he comes back to the Prem it will likely be with an Aston Villa/Newcastle type. Personally, I think Kalvin Phillips is a more realistic target. I'm confident we'll be nowhere near relegation this season and as such no signings will be made. Good opportunity to gradually phase in Ozoh and Franca and start again next season. This season is over. Save the money and spend it on full backs and hopefully striker in the summer.

The simple fact is we have close to zero to offer any "name" player when compared to our peers. We play dire football. As a result regardless of whether he would be a good signing for us, there is (IMO) as close to no chance of him signing for us as to make it mathematically zero. Much more likely he'll take his massive pay cut to sign for a UTD, Newcastle or similar even if it meant him being a bit part player which would probably more suit him than being run into the ground by us.

BTW, I agree your post 100%, save there could be a "name" player who might want to join us where the circumstances are right. They may have no other option, they may be London/south east and already settled, we may offer a lot of game time etc. I do not believe any player plans to take the dollar to sit on the bench. We are not great but are safe enough for this division; and they will know they will get a lot of premiership games for several seasons if they stay fit. That is not a daft career move for any name player. However, and by way of repetition, Henderson does not fall into that category for the reasons given. He will not come to us and we will not seek him.

Whether we think he’ll do a job for us or not, we’ve got more chance of signing Ella Henderson.

Would boo him (and the board) if he signed. Man speaks rubbish about tolerance and growing the game. It's the hypocrisy I hate. Why not just say the money was too tempting or keep his idiot mouth shut? He'd front a campaign for The Superleague to be played in Saudi Arabia with half time beheadings if they gave him enough riyals.
I ain't got nuthin' funny to say. Sorry. |

Would be a great addition, but with most great additions, not likely to come to us!

Never rated him. He always passes sideways and is very rarely creative going forward. His hypocrisy going to Saudi after he claimed he supported LGBT also shows the man has no moral backbone which is fine but then don’t pretend you stand anything other than money.. A total w***er.

Football and "morals" don't go together. Money speaks. Just look at all the pundits that went to qatar for the world cup. I am sure Henderson does not care what the likes of me and you think anyway. I have been to Dubai numerous times with my job for the extra money. No regrets whatsoever.
