Can't see this happening. A sub for Galatasary nowadays and no longer in the Ivory Coast squad (unlike Pepe) There is very little chance he would have any impact in the Premier League. We definitely dodged a bullet if talk of him being offered a 4 year contract at very high wages were true

He still has the Europa Cup, League title and possible Champions League next year in Turkey. Beats coming back to the scene of his former glory as a shell of himself

He starts for Galatasary regularly and has already scored some absolute crackers. I know some people have issues with him but there’s no need to just make stuff up. He looked quite pleased when he scored in their last game.

He had been a sub in his past two games when I posted - including the crucial top-of-the-table Fenerbahce clash. He did get a runout in his subsequent appearance but that was against a punching-bag Konyaspor team

That’s because he was coming back from injury, he’d started all the games in the previous couple of months.

Certainly possible - a lot would depend upon how he has found the experience of living in Turkey - if its been positive for him then for sure its not a big stretch to think he would consider trying life in yet another country -

If it were in January until the end of the season, and then we actually bought a replacement, I don't see the harm. We're rubbish on the left. Wilf and Olise as our wide men is better than any current combination. Our current best is Ayew and Olise.

Primarily because we made no attempt to sign a replacement for Wilf.

Aston Villa are reportedly targeting a move for Galatasaray winger Wilfried Zaha.

According to Football Transfers, the former Crystal Palace man was the subject of an approach from the Villa hierarchy. The 31-year-old joined Galatasaray in the summer following the expiration of his contract at Selhurst Park.

Zaha is very familiar with the Premier League after an eight-year stint in south London. Boss Unai Emery is said to be an admirer of the winger after initially trying to sign him while in charge at Arsenal

I would only want Wilf back if we could pick him up for £2M and pay him no more than £40K per week (Let’s face it, he doesn’t need the money and we’ve paid him £££Millions already)
He was still a good player when he left but we have had his best years. His wages were outrageous compared to his return for us in his last 18 months. He is missing more and more games through injury and his style of play in the latter years was one of not taking his man on and slowing down the play. Not to mention the circus every transfer window and his brother / agent stirring things up.

Wilf is history and hopefully stays that way for us.

I think if he comes back - he’ll feel he has a point to prove and come on he’s 31 not 35! He’s as fit as a fiddle we know his quality and he’ll slot back in very nicely.

Anyway is there such a thing as a long term plan for us? We seem to be lurching from one game to the next under a manager who won’t be at the helm next season (thank goodness) with a tendency to only give game time to players he knows. I’d rather bring someone in with a realistic chance of doing something positive for the team (other than look good in training and warming the bench).

Bet he’ll end up going to Villa and making a real impact…….especially when they play us!

It's odd that he hasn't been able to be successful elsewhere. United, Cardiff and now, seemingly, Galatasaray all seem to have been difficult for him.

You'd suspect that if he does return to the PL he'll want European football, which was clearly the reason he left, and Villa will be able to offer that.

Obviously if there was any opportunity to take him on loan for the rest of the season that would keep us up but he won't want to return full time and we'd be mad to pay a transfer fee given that he buggered off on a free a few months ago.

Would love him back but just don't see it happening. I would imagine it was a big emotional decision to leave in the first place so can't see him making such a quick u turn. If Galatasaray are forcing him out, it may be on the cards, although I think if he wants to continue his Champions League - which presumably he does - dream Villa/Newcastle seem a more likely destination.

We've certainly had his best years he and doesn't have the blistering pace to beat fullbacks anymore, but I'd like to see him play in a more central role, possibly striker.

If it were to happen he'd be welcomed back with open arms for sure.
