As long as we rest Olise I am happy with the line up. BTW, anyone know what the Brentford manager (Frank) said to Olise after the game? Seems he was full of admiration for our whizz kid....

Eze and Olise must surely be rested in a match like this.I will never forget the Palace run to the semi-finals in 1976, but our priority at the moment is to consolidate survival. We can't do that by overworking our two game changers who lets not forget are recently back from injuries. It may also be a very good opportunity to see what players like Franca,Ozoh etc.can do as starters.

Given that our next game after Everton isnt until the 20th that may influence team selection to include a few more 1st teamers ( or have them on the bench) to push for the win than would otherwise be the case. Everton's next league game is the 14th -

Everton's next league game is the 14th - That's not a bad point DE. I still expect to see a slightly hybrid team of starters and fringe players however, which Everton may field too. Knowing our luck, we'll get a win then draw a trip to the Emirates/Anfield/Etihad etc, next though! I watched a bit of WHU vs BHA last night and shuddered at the thought of us having European football too, albeit it is the holy grail for many! Either way, COYP.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Indeed Nicholas, as a club were not even adequately geared up for our current commitments, god forbid any form of European competition became included in the roster. Originally posted by Nicholas91

To get into Europe we’d have to get something like 42 points from the remaining 18 games - so I think we’re fine this season. Unless we win the cup…

With Everton also coming up in the league in a couple of weeks, their players won’t spare the horses on Eze and Olise if they do play tonight and I can see them targeted with crunching ‘old school’ tackles. It would be reckless to play them as we are as good as relegated without them. It will also be very slippy out there tonight which won’t suit the silky skills of our two stars and just add to injury risk. I just hope Roy sees what I and others on here see. So having listened to Hodgson's Presser: 1. Olise has a hamstring problem , but how bad is not clear. It would seem then, it may simply be a question of who replaces Olise and Ayew in the XI that started the Brentford game? I suspect it might be Edouard for Olise and either Schlupp (or possibly Franca) for Ayew.
