I feel now that the genie is well & truly out of the bottle it almost certainly wont go back in - as in its now legally allowed to discuss / propose & consider being part of an ESL without being fined, threatened & penalised by UEFA / FIFA -

I saw ESL (A22) talking about a 3 tier proposal (64 teams) star / gold / blue - one thing that surprised me was it was saying, all games free on TV - given that a sizable chunk of change comes from TV revenue, how can they afford to just give that away & still cover revenue streams ? Unless its an introductory offer "Free today" & 6 months down the line they start to charge a nominal fee, then milestone increments- who knows ?

My feeling is that now UEFA / FIFA will have to at least make their own ESL proposal to keep the golden goose in house, especially if there is to be any seemless transition of registration for clubs between current domestic & any future structure of full time European league competition -

The other thing I struggled with is their was someone saying that the UK Government would prevent UK based teams from joining ELS, seems a rather drastic measure, maybe its a test to see if any UK Government appointed regulator actually has any teeth.

In any event its going to be an interesting period going forward where one thing seems pretty certain- things are going to change -

Arsenal and Palace have confirmed they won’t be joining any Super League and will play in FIFA competitions only.

Until Arsenal change their mind. We wouldn't be invited anyway a bit like me saying I wouldn't go out with Kylie.

As much as I despise the ESL how is it right that a government decides that you can't join? What happened to the free market.

I can't believe either a Labour or Tory government would actually do this, you might as well nationalise football.

This is all about money. Nothing more nothing less.

The game will continue to suffer.

There's no guarantee an ESL would be successful. If it wasn't, would those clubs be accepted back?

I think culling the super wealthy clubs from the PL would revitalise it. Make it more fun.

With the current state of the world, this issue is way down in order of importance.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Presumably the relegation being mentioned only applies to the top divisions. If a club is relegated from the bottom tier where do they go?

Out completely & an invite to another good performing club from whichever league, so they were saying on Sky News. From what i saw with their matrix, there will be 2 groups in the 'Star & Gold' levels & 4 in the 'Blue', bottom from each group in 'Star' will be relegated to 'Gold' & the top from each group will be promoted. Bottom 2 from each group in 'Gold' will be relegated to 'Blue' & the top 4 teams will be promoted from 'Blue'. They did say it could be upto 20(twenty) teams relegated out completely. Bet everything changes(if it goes ahead)

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

More money = more cheating on the field of play, and even more shady deals away from the pitch.
Will the football be any better ? I think we know the answer...

Surely when we already have The Best League in the World it's impossible for anything to be better.
