Me for 3. Ayew is back, this game will be hard.

I also agree, Franca can only start when he is deemed good enough by the team management, we have to trust their judgement it has been well documented when Franca joined us that he had limited first team experience and was very much work in progress!

We aren't very good midweek.

Since it's Brighton, hopefully the ground will be hostile, and we will be up for it.
We have Eze and Ayew back at least, so maybe we can get a result.

Currently, the state of play is:
- Played 17
- 17 points and
- 17 goals scored
so a 1-1 draw will keep the symmetry intact.

PS.
The last 4 home games against them point in the same direction.

If we’re only going to win one more game this season, please make it this one

But seriously I think the weed might be a bit too confident and I fancy us to pinch this, can’t see us keeping a clean sheet, so I’ll go 2-1

Even off their best it will still be a toughie to claim all 3 points as we don't have the ability to retain possession for long periods. They'll have done their homework so will heavily man mark likes of Olise and Ayew. But Franca et al are unknown quantities so maybe not 90mins but well worth 30-40mins surely? Hope we nick it without more injuries, my only prediction is it won't be 0-0. Not sure about Henderson, he doesn't seem to have very sticky hands although his positioning is good.

A guaranteed red card for someone me thinks - maybe Hughes if he plays.
I can see a hard fought score draw to be honest and would accept that right now.

Andersen, Ayew and Ward are all on 4 yellow cards.

In that order of priority they need to avoid another and a 1 match ban.

Tough one to call after Saturdays result and late performance to snatch a draw. A lot depends on who plays and setup/balance. I’m sure the 11 that finished won’t be the starting 11. Then we have the returning Ayew and Eze and perhaps even Lerma? Does Richard’s stay in midfield, go to right back or just the bench? Hodgson has a few choices and my worry is that it will be an 11 like the Bournemouth match? I’m going for a draw but it could easily be a defeat or dare I say a win to us. Personally I would like Ozoh to start after seeing his performance on Saturday. Or was that just because we didn’t have a midfield until he came on and then had the missing balance - HELP!

Hamstring problem, I believe, so I'll be surprised if he's in the squad. IMO, we can cope for a game without Andersen (with Richards stepping in) but I'd like Ayew to play the remaining games he can before he goes off to the ACN simply because he relieves the pressure so often by winning fouls.

Ward is injured and surely Ayew is back to zero?

That's what I believe Roy will start with. DB, I do agree with you, I was just questioning NELLIO's assertion that the majority of the fan base wouldn't want Franca to start.

Subs: Mathews, Tomkins, Franca, Ebiowei, Ola-Adebomi, Ozoh, Riedewald, Eze, Ahamada.

I’d be amazed if Eze didn’t start, he’s our best player. Think Richards will be benched again. Apart from that I think you nailed the team that will start.

Nobody goes back to zero, after 19 games, 5 yellows will not bring a 1 match ban, but, they all count to 10 yellows, which will bring a 2 match ban.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
