They should be concentrating on finding a job. Should anyone fall in love anywhere they happen to be no one else should attemp to interfere with that.

There's a difference between spending the rest of your life with someone you love and spending it with someone who's been picked out of a catalogue. Here we go again! No one gets “picked from a catalogue”. That some use agencies to initiate introductions is no different to those who use them here. That’s the modern world. As is first meeting people over the web. It’s just a fact of life today. It doesn’t change in any way what the requirements are. A relationship has to exist and be proved to exist before there is any hope of a visa being granted, and then there are many other requirements to fulfill. You don’t just order online like you can a pair of shoes from China.

I don’t think Thailand is a big supplier, but could be wrong. No, they “don’t all look the same”. The people from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and The Philippines do because they are all Malay, not Chinese.

You are all assuming it is a White English Male marrying someone foreign. What about the other way round?

Love does not override citizenship laws in any country, as far as I'm aware. The closest I can think of are crimes of passion in France.
