Also we have a manager who operates on a squad system l that being 11 and if you don't fit his starting 11 you may as well not be there.

We got lucky yesterday with a goal they gifted us

I don't think that's the case. I think the issue is the strength of the bench.

If we were 2-0 down we may have seen Franca, but at 1-1, its too big a gamble, Roy will always respect the point.

Edouard worked hard yesterday and took his goal well. However, he should have scored when he failed to get his head to a good cross that Ward Prowse headed over. His other problem is he fails to hold onto balls played long to hi m. A good centre forward needs to have that in his armoury to enable his colleagues to get up the pitch.
We most definitely deserved the point as for periods we shaded the encounter

Same problem as Benteke, doesn’t attack the ball in the penalty area. Mark Bright , Muzza or any other decent centre forward would’ve thrown themselves at that ball in to make contact and not worried about getting hurt

Its good perspective for sure.

And a good response to anyone who says that money is the answer.

However on the pitch its 11 x 11 as Luton showed us.

An away point at WH is a good result. If it had of been preceded by a couple of wins we'd be sitting in the top half looking forward to Bmouth.

Once again we hear the magical "if" - "if only", if this if that". We didn't. We lost against teams below us, our current form is nothing to write home about. Now, if we want to talk about "if", how about "if" we win a few games in succession at home for starters? Then we would be talking about present and future possibilities, rather than things that have past, incidentally which we should learn from - will we?

Where is the investment coming from?

The recent young players we have bought clearly have potential and talent. Currently they are not used for whatever reason which only Roy and his team of coaches know. They are sometimes on the bench sometimes not. What I I cannot understand is why are they not playing every game in the U23 teams to showcase themselves and to gain match fitness , all be it at a lower level. It is one thing to try and show your qualities in training sessions and another to show you qualities in matches. I think it maybe more in their interests to play a competitive match to showcase their capabilities rather than in training where they maybe inhibited.I am sure they will be of great value in the future and given more playing time will get them in the first team quicker , failing that get them out on loan to develop if we are not currently going to use them.COYP

I read somewhere the other day that after scouting Franca, there was a belief that he was ready to go straight into the first team.

If this were to be the case it just illustrates how far away from reality those in charge are. Fantasy Football indeed.

Yes - wish I could recall where I read that, might have been a snippet from The Athletic.

I suspect that's his brief. Holding pattern until..?

As I posted elsewhere I heard Brentford's Dougie equivalent interviewed. Buys in January are not expected to hit full impact till the new season. Add his back injury, youth and need to adapt in so many ways, the suggestion of an immediate impact is likely click bait bollox.

RH knows a player who can make an impact as his resurrection of Eze shows.

I suspect we will see Franca in the FA Cup where he can play with less risk to the club's future.
