The gay guys with their eyes stabbed out and genitals mutilated in Sligo could have been a bit of a clue. Then the Aisling Murphy killing may have demonstrated something but it doesn't seem likely anyone in power is listening. Government and media think we're all far right as we'd prefer not to let scum bag, fake asylum seekers and Muslim extremists in. How fascist of us.

All blamed on the 'far right'.

I have no idea about the individual motivations of the rioters or who they are, but I do know that this situation is once again a symptom of the schisms in our society that mass immigration is causing.
And let's not forget what seems to be yet another violent attack by a foreigner on women and children that kicked this off.

I am sorry but violence is not the answer. It never is. Tomorrow the news will be about thugs rioting and burning the city rather than the innocent children battling for their lives in the hospital right now.

I agree with no violence but I’m afraid people here, in Ireland and all across Europe have just had enough and we’re gonna see more and more incidents and reactions like this in the coming months and years.

The other issue is that in Ireland or the UK we have no real political alternative. We have no genuine, widespread and realistic anti uncontrolled immigration parties to vote for. I laughed out loud for ages at the media response to the Dutch elections.

Totally agree!!!

Our only chance of voting for someone to win who speaks for us is by phoning an ITV premium line for the next 2 or so weeks! It’s very frustrating!!!!

Yeah nail on head. It's a good job I'm not in charge. Would be huge changes. There so many other things too but it just makes my blood boil thinking about it. Can say what I really feel or I'll end up in the clink. Free speech my arse

I reckon there will be a split in the Tory party and a new 'right wing' party will be formed, probably headed by a certain Nigel Farage, who is busy at the moment trying to gain some momentum. He may be a marmite individual, but he got momentum for Brexit. He can probably rally the population again. Maybe Braverman as a deputy; who knows, but it would be the only chance of halting and hopefully reversing the current trends. Otherwise we are stuck with words; just words.

hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing.

Or Reform, with Farage leading it and a significant amount of Tory MP's defecting over to it could emerge as a serious player.

No it isn’t. It’s blamed on hooligan gangs. Teenagers too young to have any mature political views. That they were egged on by right wing elements using social media to wind them up has also been suggested, and seems likely.

The attacker is reported to be an Irish citizen who has lived in Ireland for over 20 years. So probably born elsewhere. Does that make him a foreigner? I expect it does in your eyes.

Let’s hope so. It needs to happen. People need to have their views represented. We also need to know just how many agree.

It’s something I would welcome.
