Very few men want to hear a woman talk about men's football.
They can talk about women's football, which is what they know about.

I like Sue Smith, but she is the exception.

When I see that stupid ugly cow Aluko, I turn over. And there are a number of other butch, poorly spoken individuals that I cannot stand.

If it's such a different game, why was he qualified to go and coach the women?

Why would you even bother to write that? He obviously meant levels.

There's rather a lot of irony in this response leading with 'why would you bother to write that?'...

There's countless male pundits who played elite level football and talk absolute s***e, and I've already listed examples of people who commentate on the men's game very well with no playing experience at all.

No one ever seriously objected to Motson or Tyler based on them not having played the game... what's the difference?

The whole argument is propped up by the idea that people who have played the game have the best understanding of it, but I think that's demonstrably untrue in so many ways.

I don't think anyone can argue with that particular point.

You are living proof that some men talk absolute cobblers most of the time.

Where in what Keegan said did he state that he supported male commentators with no experience of the game? None.....Maybe he does if they are quality nerds like Motson but the point is that wasn't a point he touched on.

He's making the rather obvious contention that a game that is single sex is now filled with birds chatting nonsense most of the time.

For my part, I support both single sex domain options for both sexes and I regard the universal...because this is done on all platforms.....dumbing down inherent here as an unrequired and unasked for regression to the mean.

That's some gymnastics you're doing, fair play.

I think you probably know you're defending something illogical but you know, ideology.

Sky sports have been turning out Merson and Dowie and the likes for years - I don't think they've done any dumbing down since.

We can agree that a better standard of pundit is required, but football coverage suffers from far too much talk in any case.
When you have to talk at length about men kicking a ball around a field, it must be quite hard to avoid talking bollocks.

The whole women punditry debate is for me mostly about men wanting something that belongs only to them on their terms. Far too often these days, men are made to feel that they can't have their own little club, whereas women are positively encouraged to have a space only for themselves.

Also, men tend to like women who like men and are attractive on the eye.
Sadly, the female football fraternity doesn't have too many candidates.
You might consider that sexist, but it is reality.

IF all female pundits looked and sounded like Raquel Welch, then we might hear fewer complaints. Just a thought.

I can at least respect the honesty of your position, rather than pretending male pundits are delivering some uniquely spectacular insight.

What is getting up my nose recently(say last 2 years) is football news websites being cluttered up with women's football information. Ive noticed even on here the clickbait is often about some player who is connected to Palace women.
I dont watch women football other than big international games (european final, world cup semi final etc) and when I watch the women game it endorses why i dont follow it.
Like this morning I go to BBC football news and it is all about women's super league.
I get it that people want to follow the women football, but it is a very different game to the mens. What I propose is two different streams. Dont keep trying to mix them together.
Next thing we will be hearing, like in Spain, is equality, inclusivity and diversity. e.g. same salaries for players, same stadiums etc. etc.
So we will have £5m a year players being watched by a couple of thousand fans being massively subsidised by mens football.
Women's football should stop leaning on mens football and plough its own furrow. I dont mind talking about it even watching the odd game on telly, but keep things in perspective. Ive never been to watch them live, nor do i intend to. It would appear from their gates that most men football fans agree. On telly judging by the noise, it sounds like most live fans are women and young girls screaming. Not for me that's all.
So support it if you want , but park it up at best beside the mens game. Pleas just stop overlapping men football with women football.

Sky sports and all the rest of them have done little else.

Sure, I'm defending my ideology same as you are.....I think what you are defending is....well like I say, a regression to the mean.

Single sex domains should be a thing.....and there's an obsession....mainly by feministic women and the men who think like them to ensure they can't exist.
