Unless carrying a knock, should go full strength in my opinion. If we're to make changes, only minor - such as Henderson for Johnstone and Richards over one of Andersen/Ghehi. Maybe give Ward a rest for Clyne. Let's be honest, we're not going down this season. Luton, Burnley, Sheff Utd, Everton, Wolves and Bournemouth are all dire. This is our best chance of silverware and we should go for it. I'm bored of mid table obscurity, this and the FA cup are our only chance of glory. Surely our players can manage 2 games in a week? Utd have the Champions League to focus on. Our strongest side should stuff their B team. We're one of 5 all Premier League team fixtures. Potentially one win away from an easy last 16 match. Most PL teams remaining in the competition will be distracted with European football or relegation fears to take this seriously. Teams like us, Brentford and Chelsea have a real chance.

Maybe a chance to see what 'Trialist B' can do for the senior team. He seems like one of the few youngens making a real noise and we currently have no left winger fit anyway. I'd play Jairo at left back just to give Mitchell a rest. Yet again he was hobbling on Saturday. Henderson Clyne Holding Richards Jairo Hughes Ozoh JRS Schlupp Trialist B Mateta We are going to need a miracle to get a win so Roy might as well give a couple of youngsters the chance to prove themselves as a couple more injuries and he might be forced to play them in the PL. Ozoh has the physicality if he's fully fit. Other teams treat the League Cup as an inconvenience

I’m quite expecting United to have their best week of the season so far whatever team we put out tomorrow and Saturday. Tomorrow is sort of a free hit, it would be great if we treated it that way and had a real go at them, but we all know how it’ll pan out. Edited by monkey (25 Sep 2023 5.27pm)

Let's be honest. We are unlikely to go down this season, so we might be tempted to have a go. I'd take a point on Saturday. That's blown it !!!

With two Man Utd victories in 5 days.

Indeed. With two Man Utd victories in 5 days. I was thinking more like we’ll sit back and watch them pass it about until they eventually break us down. It’ll be a shame, because the way the league cup is treated now we’ve got nothing to lose if we are putting out a weaker side, and I’m sure the fans going up there would prefer to see us have a go at them

Won't bother them, quick flight from Gatwick to Manchester & then a short ride to Salford. Fair point

I agree with the ‘rest most of our first team’ due to risk of injury and no real replacements. I would start Mateta, Raki-Sakyi and have Henderson in goal.
The beatings will stop when morale improves. |

No mention from Roy if that has cleared up. You're probably right that if fit he will probably get time and if available I would imagine might even start.

I'd be surprised to see this given Roy's comment. We just cant afford to lose any more first teamers But don't disagree with a lot of your comments.
