Yes, but yesterday - notwithstanding the sending off - I cannot remember england conceding so few penalties. Their discipline was superb.

I agree, I think it was their superb discipline and the Argies lack of it that won them the game, because obviously it wasn’t free flowing Rugby.

Yeah, i agree, but that may be because The argies were cr@p. One thing i have noticed that along with the TMO, referee's are referring their decisions to the TMO Bunker or 'foul play review process' basically a VAR for Rugby Union

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Really good game Wales v Fiji. Unfortunate for the lad at the end who would've given them a chance to kick for the win.

In the England game it looked to me as though Argentina came into the game with a better record, when Curry got sent off at around 7 minutes & the Argentinian fellah only got a Yellow (10 min sin bin for his indiscretion I think the Argies thought we were going to collapse & it was going to be a walkover for them - the first George Ford drop goal I think really took them by surprise & they never recovered.

I agree that the laws have become a nightmare, but, to be fair, the commentary teams are getting very good at explaining the referees' decisions, often with the help of a quick replay pf the incident in question.

That's fine for the armchair fan, but not when you've paid good money to attend.

Also, though I didn't watch either 'live', I understand that even the ITV commentators and pundits couldn't explain why an England player was sent off by some off-field decision-maker for no more than an accidental clash of heads whereas a South African in an almost-identical incident wasn't even subject to review.

Your Haka's come on leaps and bounds, mind. You never got served that quick in the Victory with just a please and thank you.

That was a cracker yesterday.

Wales look dangerous in attack but defence looked a bit shaky at times. That said, it was a very good Fiji side who were it not for a trademark rush of blood to the head may have got their try at the death.

I was very impressed with England. I thought discipline and general maturity would be our weakest feature, which looked perfectly scripted with Curry's (dubious IMHO) sending off so early on although I respect demz da rulez.

Showed a fantastic, tactical display with Ford earning himself a potential knighthood. Japan will be a problem but a good performance there may restore a lot of hope.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I would honestly suggest it's not only incompetence but genuine bias. There's no other way to explain the constant inconsistencies. Rugby is one sport where the officiating makes the Premier League look good.
The Wales/ Fiji game was the same - good game - yet the two teams where treated differently by the ref. Anything Fiji did - yellow card. Anything Wales did - warning.
What England need to do is go far despite the ref. Which they've already started on. Ireland are the darlings - seemingly immune to the rules.

I couldn't have put it better myself (apart from the paragraph about the Wales match; I didn't watch it so I can't comment).

England - Flattered to deceive. no Tries vs a mistake ridden Argentina. I Get they were a man down, but still didn't look good.

Wales - held Fiji at bay (with some immense tackling) until both Sides were down To 14 men and then crumbled. Embarrassingly reverted to delaying tactics and cynical fouls which they should have been penalised for. In the end it worked. just.

neither team will get far.

I keep meaning to look up the rules of rugby union because most of the time I haven't a clue as to why the ref. makes the decisions he does, part from the law against passing the ball forward.
