I think we can get 9th. We look a solid well oiled machine. Keep beating the teams below us and pick up the odd win against a big club.

The likes of West Ham, Brighton, Villa and Newcastle will start to struggle when Europe kicks in. I’m not sure either have the squad depth to maintain their PL form. Chelsea still look like a bunch of strangers. I reckon we can finish ahead of two of those teams.

We’re marginally stronger than Brentford, Fulham and Forest and the current bottom six are all poor and will scrap it out to avoid relegation. Luton, Burnley & Everton for the drop.

As usual, a lot will depend on injuries given our lack of depth. If Olise can score more and Franca proves a good buy we could have our best season in the EPL

So far the results are no surprise. We were lucky to play Sheff Utd when they had basically just got rid of their best players without replacements; we always draw with Brentford and beat Wolves at home. The end of the month will give us a better indication

Plus points have been the strikers contribution and Mitchell's apparant return to form. Our defence has been pretty sloppy at times. TBH, if we had to sell one of our stars I would choose Guehi, but we would need an adequate replacement

We got 45 points last term to finish 11th.

50 would be good but still only got 11th last term.

11th would be success.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Man City, Arsenal, Man UTD, Liverpool, Spurs, West Ham, Brighton, Villa that is 8 teams already plus put in Newcastle and Chelsea makes 10 teams. Brentford are also decent even without Toney they are not doing bad. Just shows top 10 is unlikely. But you never know it depends on how well Palace can do. Goalkeeping and defence is not bad. Just full backs could be issue. If Mitchell gets injured plus not having an attacking RB e.g. Sacha Boey who Palace were linked with.

I think it depends on Edouard and Mateta. If Palace can get 20+ EPL goals between both of them then they could have a very good season. Edouard's top EPL season is 6 goals and 3 assists. For Mateta it is 5 goals and 1 assist (EPL). 20 EPL goals between these two is not impossible with Eze, Franca and Olise in your side you will get goal chances.

Thats a really stupid way of looking at it. Like all the clubs you mention are ALWAYS going to finish in roughly the same position every season. Ask Brighton fans if they thought they'd finish where they did last season. Or Villa fans before Emery came in.
You focus on your own performance, not hide under your bed worrying about your rivals. For me, so far, the difference is we have started winning games we'd expect to get something from. In previous years we always have a few good results then drop points against someone crap like Everton. If we can keep it up I think 9th. If we fall back into inconsistency? Probably 13th/14th.

So far we have gained the points we should be gaining if we are to scrape into the top 10. If we can keep that up, avoid a serious injury crisis and get Olise back and Franca up to speed by mid October we should just about make 10th or even 9th place.

Well, relegation is pretty remote. In the history of the EPL, only five teams with at least seven points after 4 games have been relegated - and none with eight or more.

Leeds, last year, were one of them. They actually had 7 points in 3 games then went on a 2 in 8 run

Four matches to end of September. Win all four, and we will have nine points and progress in Football League Cup.

Could then start to expect finishing 8th or 9th.

I'm of the same thinking. cant see us over the course of a season beating ManC, 'pool, spurs, ManU, Arse, and I'd also include Toon, Brighton and Villa this season, so realistically 8th is best this year for me. Interesting to see how Europe affects toon and Brighton, mind.
We'll have a mixed bag of a season, and ultimately end up 10th/11th with 49 points.

Good analysis. I think if Edouard and Mateta also turn up more than last season that 9th is achievable and both look much sharper this season so far than in the whole of last season. Let's hope that is not famous last words!

Given the quality of teams this season, 11th would be par. Anything above would be punching well above our weight.
