Stole my thunder. Bournemouth got Sinisterra on loan. Would be useful until Olise fit which will take a while and of course the Brazilian messiah.

A club our size can only ever have short-termism, we will never have a sustained period of success. We've got a great spine which just needed strengthening in a few more positions. Then we could have had a real challenge this year. Just seems like another season, we will settle for staying up. Will sell a couple of players next year and use that money to strengthen the rest of the squad and see what we can do. Massive opportunity missed for me and lack of ambition from the board. A real challenge at what though?
It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. - John Bostock (Nov 2007) |

How much longer are you willing to wait before questioning the same old excuses of why we still haven't started work on the new stand. Same story, every couple of years it just gets delayed again.

The excuses aren't always the same though. I have faith it'll happen, but there's no point in us losing sleep over when that will be.

The progress / lack of, is well documented and in the public domain. Palace prioritised the Academy development ahead of the new stand, and that has contributed to the delay. But of course we have a number of supporters that think that everything in life is easy and laid on a plate.

Problem for me is that we must (mustn't we?) have a recruitment strategy, but what the F*** is it? Young players with re-sale- Holding and Lerma, no. Prem experience? Franca...no. Back-up when we sell a star or two... just Franca, no. Do we only buy in the UK? Do we have no talent spotters in European leagues, seems that way. There has been no visible sense whatsoever to our recruitment in this window other than (hopefully) we are gathering money for the next manager and for the new stand. I am very frustrated with this club but I guess I have been for most of the last 60 years.

Could also be the fact that the academy cost what was it, £5m and the new stand is likely to cost £100m? I think I know what is easier and more productive to achieve. Not knocking it, but we have been talking about starting the build in the off season for the last two seasons, but not a shovel in sight. Perhaps someone who knows the ins and outs can enlighten us as to exactly what is holding it up now because I thought all of the barriers had been overcome?

A high number I would wager!

Trying to develop a stadium in a built up, residential area is a complex project. The delays have been frustrating. I think the whole scheme was announced by Steve Parish somewhat prematurely. Work is now planned to start next May.
