If it really is a fee of around £2m for a long-term Tomkins replacement, it's decent business.

If this one goes through he will be decent cover at cb . He has been critisised for lack of pace and a turning circle bigger than the Exxon Valdez but given we defend 30 yards deeper than Arsenal I think he will do just fine .

Rob Holding for less than £5mil would represent good business to me. No real relocating for him as another London club, English, knows the language, knows the league. Still in his 20's, circa 100 appearances for Arsenal and cover for us at CB. Probably not good enough to cause tension by threatening Marc or Joachim's places in the team but won't enter the pitch with as precarious a physical condition as Tomkins looks these days and Richards has a record for. Would be solid cover at a bargain price.

He plays right back quite often. He's not that fast or skilful however, he may be slightly faster than Ward.
