Edouard ? Got a free kick on target but it was straight down the middle. A save you would expect any Premiership goalkeeper to make. His hold up play was average at best. A number of sloppy short passes that were easily intercepted. When he was played through the left channel in the first half, he wanted too much time and the chance went. I'm not seeing any improvement from him at all.

Haven't seen much of the Brentford game bar tv highlights but against Ars he seemed very reluctant to run the channels or get in the face of the defenders . In his defence I don't think he sees himself as a CF

If only it was that easy, as Ange at spurs said, SOME fans need to realise, buying players is not as easy as telling the mrs you’re just popping down the supermarket to buy some players. There’s so much more involved. SP and Dougie are not stupid, im sure they would’ve bought a striker by now if the right one at the right price was available and if he wanted to join us of course. We wanted Danny Ings last season, but he’s not exactly been banging them in for the spammers. It’s been obvious for a long time, we don’t just bring in players for the sake of it, they have to be right. What, like Ferguson, Mateta, Sorloth… shall I go on!

What, like Ferguson, Mateta, Sorloth… shall I go on! Sorloth seems to score pretty regularly at quite a high level. Looked pretty poor for us. Ferguson is surely a tax scam? Mateta shows that it's not only white men who can't jump. He still had a foot on the floor when he leapt three inches into the air to miss a header at the weekend. I was brought straight back to Zaha's comment on him during training. Something like 'who jumps like that, bro?' Or some such.

I thought he was alone in the sports world at being unable to leave the floor when he jumped, but apparently not.

I’m not certain either OE or JPM are the answer, but they’ve both bizarrely hit a purple patch. Part of the issue I think is that neither have been given a proper run in the team, there’s been too much chipping and changing. This was certainly an issue with Vieira. It seems Roy is favouring OE and he just needs a run of 10 games or so to see what he can do. Eze is playing superbly and Ayew has turned into a different player under Roy. Service has improved and with that, the strikers will appear to improve. I think Edouard could still turn into the striker we want, just needs more time. He’s had a great start to the season and long may it continue.

Even though we might not think they are the answer, I think that we might be able to agree that both OE and JPM can finish. They are not devoid of talent. BUT, they are the type of strikers that broadly wont get heavily involved in the game. We've seen with a couple of Ayew and Mitchel crosses the guys can find space and get on the end of things. Until we can upgrade, we know what we need to do. Generate some opportunities for them
