J is a terrific keeper and why would he want to go to Wolves? Is it possible Johnstone wants to go back to the Midlands? Didn't he arrive from West Brom on a free? Wolves being the same kind of area could make sense if he wants to move his family up there.

Got the "here we go" from Fabrizio Romano. This is actually happening. Weird transfer IMO, we have other pressing positions to fill [Tweet Link]

Getting Guaita to play would have been cheaper but Henderson is a decent goalie and should have sell on value.

I really don’t get this. Johnstone is a good keeper, in fact he could be better than Henderson who won’t come to us unless we guarantee him the starting spot (which is the reason why he is leaving Utd). All we had to do was buy a number two keeper who would accept he is number two and concentrate on buying players we actually need like full backs and strikers. I’m convinced we have an unhealthy obsession with buying and changing keepers unnecessarily and seem to have done for years.

Seems strange though ,as it’s well known Henderson, won’t be happy with a bit part, and who wants unhappy players.?

Serious question. Do you not feel that having two equally competent keepers can cause disharmony, more particularly when we have no European campaign to make use of both of them. We could end up with a maximum of 40 games this season which is not a lot to keep two highly rated keepers happy.

Surely not 20 million? Doesn't sound Palace. Mind you, Nigel Martyn was the first one million pound goalkeeper.
