It might be a poor excuse but the stats are the stats.

The poorer you are the more desperate you get, and the more likely you are to turn to crime to survive. White, black, Jamaican, Chinese... doesn't matter.

Feel free to demonstrate that this isn't the case and that it's only immigrants that are violent, regardless of poverty or circumstance.

I don't deny that for some countries culture can be a contributing factor, what I do challenge is that it's the only factor, because it's clearly not.

No. Equality for everything and for all is impossible, and also not desirable. However there are plenty of important basics where some level of equality and provision far higher than what exists currently would have a significant positive effect.

It’s not all poor people but we are back to what’s poor I guess. How’s your philanthropy going with poor people in your hotel. Must be rammed out for free !

Yeah, well the Irish aren't exactly nuns.

The Scoti, from which Scotland takes its name from were mainly an Irish tribe which invaded and ethnically cleansed that land mass.

Essentially what you correctly subscribe to the British (with the Irish as part of its armies) is the history of humanity which everyone did to everyone else.

The British were just the most successful at it during the 18th and 19th century.

Other centuries and empires are available.

If Ireland had the means and could have got beyond permanently looking to tarmac someone's drive perhaps they too could have done more than just get drunk abroad and bore everybody rigid waxing lyrical about the country that they couldn't run away from fast enough.

Frankly, I don't see all violent crime as poverty related. It is more about aggressive culture and a desire to have something you don't have without earning it.
Some people think it is quite acceptable to rob people, with or without violence. They think that they can play the victim and indulge that status by taking from or hurting others. It becomes a business.

Most of us are poor compared to someone else. Many of us grew up in very modest circumstances. That did not cause us to indulge in violent or non violent criminal activity.

There is a link between immigration and crime and that cannot be avoided. Look at the mugshots in your local paper to see instant evidence.

Not sure how much confidence I have in a Travel Publication that, in its commentary about Leeds, Yorkshire, includes the following quote

"Leeds is home to the UK's lovliest castle"

with a link directly to Leeds Castle in Kent

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

she was not exactly a Nun. You are correct sir.

Anyway, the irish got the reputation for being robbers. Mostly when we were trying to rob-back the land yis lot robbed from us.

The Orangemen below want the Irish to 'go back to where they came from'. Considering these Orange blow-ins only arrived in the 1650's........and the Irish arrived sometime between the NeoLithic and the early Bronze Age......

Its a bit like looking at the Apache/Sioux & Cherokee as just a bunch of foreigners cos they don't speak the Kings English. "oh, you are all just being difficult, insisting on speaking that way"

The Israel/Palestine fight seems to consist of both sides shouting "fe.ckoff, we were here first"

i have always observed there is a lot of mental illness in Religion & Politics.

Disorder on the streets ? Native-American tribes used to banish wrong-doers. It was considered A very serious punishment at the time.

Yep what happened with William of Orange and Cromwell was wrong.....and I say that as someone who's father's line are Orangemen (Maybe it's why I don't mind Trump who knows).

Four and a half hundred years is a long time though....and we're all northern Europeans....While I think the good friday agreement is a crock of s***e I certainly think the hatchet should be buried elsewhere than in ourselves.

The Irish are being replaced just the same as the native British are....and quicker considering there is only five million of you. This is something we are genuinely all in together.

Disorder and crime is basically a breakdown of community . A more fluid population has seen community replaced by society . We used to know everyone in our street , these days we hardly know the person next door .If you needed to borrow a cup of sugar or a pint of milk your nieghbour would gladly help , today you steal it or go to a food bank

Years ago disorder and crime would be seen by the community , the person shamed (or as PallizoVecchio said in some communities actually thrown out ) . The price to pay was too high so it rarely happened .

Today nobody gives a toss , sad really .
