So, if Hodgson sticks with what he said in the Sevilla pre-match he thinks his best XI is:

Johnstone

Ward
Andersen
Guehi
Clyne

Doucoure
Lerma
Eze

Schlupp
Edouard
Ayew

Let's see if he sticks with that for the Lyon game.

I'm of course hoping for this although there's more likelihood my name will be in the starting XI:

Johnstone

KWP
Andersen
Guehi
Mitchell/Richards

Lerma
Doucoure
Eze

Franca
Edouard
Gnoto

That's my dream and until such time it's impossible I'm sticking with it

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Think you've got this nailed on DB. Looking at who's available,

Subs: Guaita, Jairo, Richards, O'Brien, Ahamada, JRS, Mateta, Tompkins, Ebioebi(?)

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Would love to see Adaramola and Richards play:

Johnstone, Guehi, Andersen, Richards, Adaramola, Doucoure, Lerma,
Clyne, Eze, Edouard, Franca (3-4-3)

Most likely will be 4-3-3 though (Johnstone, Ward, Andersen, Guehi, Clyne, Lerma, Doucoure, Eze, Schlupp, Edouard, Ayew)

Without Olise the attack looks a bit blunt other than eze.

Ayew and Schulpp need to step up their game.

Also, unless we buy a LB we could get skinned. I thought Jarro played well at LB when I saw him.

I'd imagine barring injuries the lineup will be exactly the same as the one which started against Sevilla. Any new additions may make the bench.

A lot of noise that the young lad Hall from Chelsea is incoming, so it's possible he'll fill in at left-back if TM is still injured. I think the trio of Doucoure, Lerma and Eze should work really well, but currently we have little to no creativity on the wings and there are no strong rumours of a replacement for Wilf. Considering he was one of our most important players this is really worrying, especially with Olise out until September (or longer).

Not to be a grump, but with such a small squad (some of whom are just backups) the team basically picks itself. Roy has no history of taking risks so we're not suddenly going to see Tayo, or probably even JRS, starting against Sheffield Utd. As doombear said, Roy has already stated that he believed the Sevilla line-up to be our current strongest so probably the only question is who replaces TM if he's not fit. My guess is it will be Hall.

SJ

Ward Andersen Guehi Hall

Doucoure Lerma

Ayew Eze Schlupp

Edouard
