Great films. I think my favourite is The Good, the bad...

Lovers of Westerns should try the Netflix series Godless. A superb one armed Jeff Daniels needing revenge....don't they always ?!!

I notice a distinct lack of enthusiasm for Brokeback Mountain.

Has anybody seen "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs" it is a strange film, broken up to different stories, some are rubbish, the Tom Waits one is good, but the first story is fantastic, lasts about 25 mins

I've seen this Lanzo, I think some good reviews influenced me to try it. I wasn't disappointed, like you say, it's strange but a well made and entertaining movie.

It's available on Netflix if anyone's interested.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I thought it was a banging movie.

Would have been better if it had Clint Eastwood instead of Charles Bronson, as originally intended.

The Dollars Trilogy and Outlaw Josey Wales are really the only westerns that I would watch regularly.

I'd probably add Nevada Smith, Unforgiven, High Plains Drifter and Last Of The Mohicans (1992) to a list worth watching more than once.

I watched Soldier Blue the other day, has its moments but wouldn't put it high up. Both True Grits are good but I prefer the original. Watched the original 3.10 to Yuma this week, liked it probably more than the remake. Nobody put Young Guns or Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid.
