Every media outlet in the country without exception of The BBC is a vehicle to manufacture consent. The editorial direction or slant of each of the outlets is a means to directly influence the people that read or consume their ‘news’. Well done to Farrage for winning his award I’m glad he has found another means by which to influence his fan club. They obviously feel he is doing a good job, so we’ll done to him. The BBC does try and present a balanced argument. If you feel it’s biased you’ve probably nailed your colours to the mast, and have a low tolerance for facts that don’t align with your politics. The Guardian is no different to the The Daily Mail, The Telegraph, The Times just on the other side of the argument. GBNews is an overt right wing fan club, and that is fine as long as no one expects it to ever be particularly credible. The general health of British media and politics I think is in the gutter and we are polarising as a people as a result. This thread reflects this. Thank god we have the Palace as a means to align with each other because political fan clubs will divide us and make us all poorer to benefit those in control.

I think that's a very fair commentary all round and inclined to say I agree. The trouble with the polarisation is what is seen as a celebration of Farage's result for let's say the 'right wing' is less so of a 'right wing' and more so an opposition to the 'left wing' cultural infiltration which has become so prevalent. The further and more intensely these two sides oppose each other the more the populous is coerced into joining one end of the spectrum or t'other, where the majority probably wish to sit somewhere in the middle. With regards to the BBC it's the same with anything, you can either see the birds, trees, blue skies and smiling faces outside or see the local alcoholic, dog sh!t on the pavement, graffiti and the litter in the streets. If you're looking for that which you endorse or oppose you'll spot it, instantaneously, and it reinforces already held beliefs.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

The trouble with making stupid comments like that is that it then undermines any argument you are trying to make. Also, sticking a question-mark at the end of an imperative statement, presumably because you think it adds gravitas, is never a good idea. YT - you win the award of tw at of the year post. Are you a tw at??? The question marks just to add gravitas. Can you remember the 'let the bodies pile up' statement??

Really is shocking the way nigel farage is treated by the banks. if it can happen to him it can happen to anyone. You wont be able to have a bank account based on your political views.

It is scandalous and unacceptable. The RAF and the BBC, two of our great institutions openly disallowing White people from job applications and objectors to woke policy and migrant numbers being targeted for persecution. At what point do people say enough is enough? Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (30 Jun 2023 2.33pm)

That is the difference. Independents can do what the hell they want, it’s their dough.

Ofcom investigations piling up into this right-wing channel masquerading as a news service. It is not 'GB News' but a tory propaganda channel often using Tory MPs as presenters. If the tories want a TV channel call it ToryTV or something but do not present it as an unbiased news service.

They know the OFCOM rules my guess is they have decided it's worth taking the hit and playing the victim.

Not sure I agree with you describing it as a Tory TV channel, although I agree they do employ some as presenters. I watch it occasionally and they also have a fair few very left wing participants to balance things out. I also reckon the issues they get to discuss and the views often expressed are in line with those of the majority in this country. Just my humble opinion you understand.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

More sad lefty tosspots making spurious complaints to OFCOM because they can't stand free speech.
