Olise provided plenty of evidence after Roy arrivedthat he has a decent right foot. In several games it seemed evident that Roy and Ray have encouraged him to mix it up and go outside defenders and cross with his right.

Agree. Olise is clearly very, very talented and will get more consistent as he gets older. Having said that, I can't see him getting to the top of the game until he gets stronger on his right foot (which I think will also increase his goal tally).

Currently, he has to cut onto his left which means his goal scoring options are always 20/25 yard worldies. If he can go round the outside more frequently it'll buy him a lot more space and opportunity.

Olise got 2 goals and 11 assists last season, every single one on his left foot. Genuinely can't remember a single chance that came from a right footed cross or pass.

No Eze plus he plays the lump that is Maguire the whole game and leaves Guehi on the bench.
Why not use these games when we AR 4 nil up to use these guys.
All he did was bring on his favourites instead.
Southgate is truly an arse

How can we win 7-0 score some great goals, yet me sit watching it saying every 5 minutes 'Southgate needs to go".
I just find the football he plays very predictable and boring. If that had been Argentina we would have been thumped. No adventure no trial just bland safe predictable. If that winns tournaments then England have a problem.

We will never win a tournament whilst he is in charge. There is not enough ambition in his style of football. We smash the rubbish teams, squeeze through against the mediocre teams and ultimately come up short when playing a top team.

He’s had his chance, time to move on.

Spot on. England have had some great opportunities in recent years - home tournament finals, easy groups, and have always come up short of ideas when it really matters. And don’t even mention those penalties against Italy.

I don't hate Southgate and actually think he's done a wonderful job however I am of the opinion he has a ceiling. He's taken us to the pinnacle, cup finals in this case, however naturally the next jump is to actually win something (God forbid) and I question whether or not he can do/achieve this.

As for alternatives I have no real suggestions and of course hope and would love Southgate to take us all the way but the rolling over of minnows, excellent qualifying records and falling at final hurdles seems to be his pattern. Incorporated within this seems to be his picking of players to deliver these limited expectations, with his 'favourites' and little room for deviation or experimentation. I therefore see it not favouring the likes of Eze, which is disappointing as both a Palace and England fan.

Unfortunately we may have seen Eze's international career on Friday, unless he gets transferred to one of the big teams.

You know Southgate picks his favourites first, whether they are playing or performing for their team or not.

Eze is one of those unique players who doesn't come along very often. The skill to beat players and make something out of nothing. Instead we will had the Mount's and Maddison's who can make a good pass but are unlikely to lock a tight defence with a bit of magic.

Bit OTT. He was always going to play the City lads in that game after resting them in the opener.

Eze put in a very bright performance when he was on and, given that Southgate values squad harmony so highly, I can't believe that his personality will have done his chances any harm at all.

Next England games are in September and I'd be surprised if he wasn't in that squad too.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...
