Neves going to Saudi in his prime is a worrying turn of events. Helps Wolves with ffp, any bets on him being loaned to Newcastle and parent club paying his wages? Helps Newcastle navigate FFP.
I also learned that PIF have interests in a company owned by Todd Boehly, who has recently visited them!, Unfortunately the football authorities have lost control and the slippery slope is getting faster

PIF are big investors in Clearlake, the company through which Boehly bought Chelsea

How I yearn for the good old days when Man Utd had all the money.

I can see little attraction for players still in their prime to move off to Saudi to play in partly empty stadiums where the atmosphere will probably be muted and where there is no his footballing heritage.

Whilst we bemoan the fact that the modern pro seems to be a greedy money grabbing so and so, there surely must still be an appeal to them to be playing cut and thrust games in front of passionate crowds and in games that have real meaning and have a history of rivalry. Well, I would hope so anyway!

You can have those days back soon when they get taken over by not an Arab state.

UEFA are currently taking a stance against this Saudi emergence but I give it a couple of seasons before the Saudi league begin to throw big money at UEFA to allow "guest spots" in their European competitions. The league will know this is the only way they'll be able to get any credibility and we all know UEFA will take the money.

Seems like there are a host of players now being linked with a move there - Gray, Firmino, Ziyech amongst others and additionally to those already left. Saw a rumour too that Neves might be loaned back to a bigger team (Newcastle I think... and logically) which really is nefarious and disconcerting.

May be moving from a laughable sideshow to a real spanner in the works now.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Although that hasn't happened yet, tho won't be long, the Saudi's & Quatar's have already got themselves involved with CONCOCAF's 'Gold Cup'. UEFA next?

Jeddah has just been named to host the 2023 Club World Cup.

Every player in the world being offered ludicrous money by sh1t sides. I presume there's no FFP or anything like that. Just a Subbuteo/ Fantasy league. Obviously PSG reckon Mbappe will go there, I'm not sure he will.

If they want to play in front of a few thousand people with no atmosphere for very big bucks then hot tail it to Saudi.

This makes sense (to UEFA) not me I can see them throwing in a couple of South American club teams as well. Eventually this will become a World Club Championship it's going to be a race between FIFA and UEFA as to who gets their first and controls the money.
