For me, I have a season ticket & will go along regardless, I enjoy the day out, obviously its nicer when we win or at least play well. If its going to be Potter in charge then so be it, he managed Brighton, so what, our beef was with that prat Mullery, a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then, we had Glen FFS Murray & that worked out OK- I like Potter, a thinking mans manager, maybe he is too much for us & maybe it will turn to rat s*** but I have no issues with giving the guy a chance. Just my tuppence worth. I agree about Mullery. The worst appointment ever made by Palace. I don't recall Steve Coppell doing too well when he went the other way either though.

I really can’t make my mind up!!! Roy, Ray and Paddy have been amazing - so if they are happy to work for another year, then I’m happy with that. BUT Potter is a highly respected coach and manager. He could be the longer term solution to our management problems. He is young, would bring his own style of play and Om sure his ‘name’ would attract some good signings So much easier when you play FIFA Manager :-)

Managers at Palace don’t appear to have a huge influence on the purchase of players and I’m pretty sure Potter had little to do with who they bought at Brighton. Brighton do have a very good back room team that identifies foreign gems for very little money. I’d suggest if we buy anyone who was at Brighton it’s their back room team and not Potter. Didn’t Chelsea poach most of their recruitment team, as well?

In his three full seasons at Brighton, the club finished 15th, 16th and 9th and only his final full season did they finish above us in the PL. Edited by Willo (31 May 2023 11.30am) He was building a team, these things take time. Was never going to work at Chelsea, had approximately 36 players at training everyday and they had to expand the changing rooms. Basket case of a club

The problem with keeping Roy for next season is, we will be in the same position of finding a manager, this time next year. Surely it is just delaying the inevitable?

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Whilst Ithink Roy and Ray did a good job over their 9 matches in charge it must be remembered what teams they were up against If they were in charge for a full season I doubt our points return would be anything like it was dor the last 9 matches. Whether or not Potter would be the answer I don't know but lets not carried away by Roy's short term success.
