Probably my favourite player since he arrived at the Club. Technically excellent with that extra bit of time on the ball that the very good players possess. But also combative, wiling to put a foot in if necessary and when he was younger able to do box to box too.

If every professional athlete gave the effort he did, what a different – and wonderful – world it would be. Thank you, sir, for every urgent step you took, every bead of sweat you gave. As an athlete you are one of my heroes.

If you look at total time spent here and overall contribution to our midfield, I can’t think of a better player for us. We will miss him without a doubt. Deserves a fantastic send off.

Goodbye and good luck Macca, whatever you do and wherever you go. A giant for Palace and hugely underrated outside our club in the sense that he rarely made headlines. He was mighty for us all through his time here, but I thought his star shone particularly brightly last season. Good passer of the ball and a hard competitor. One of those players who always looked proud to wear the red and blue. I hope he makes an appearance on Sunday and that our DJ plays Jimmy Mack by Martha and The Vandellas good and loud!
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

A tremendous model pro for youngsters to emulate, and a guaranteed at least 7.5/10 rating even before a ball has been kicked. A player who has had much to do with our fortunes at the heart of midfield and an upcoming 11th season in the PL.

I’ve just watched an interview with Roy where he suggests that McArthur would be around the top of the list of players that he has ever worked with.

A wonderful servant for our club and a cracking player. One of those who never fully got the recognition by the pundits for the work he put in game in, game out. I know he's a massive Rangers fan and its always been a dream of his to play for them. Maybe one season at Ibrox to fulfil that dream beckons? I hope so. Good luck James.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |
