Fergie has reportedly been on £30k a week for the last 3 years so the total package has cost Palace about £6m in total. Definitely not next to nothing.

Yeah I think its likely to be worth the risk. He's shown he can perform at this level and looks like he is back in training now. Hopefully another reserve team match to show he's well on the way to recovery.

Personally I'd rather we bought him than went back to AWB or paid over the odds for known players like Aarons ad Spence
