If he was a clown player he is the sort we would be looking to buy. Just a thought!

JRS needs to bulk up and he has said he is doing weights in the gym. No way is he ready for the PL and it might impact his confidence.

I would see how he goes in pre season but my guess would be loan him out to a championship club until January. If he is doing well and we need him bring him back then.

Good points and agree.

When was the last time we bought a player from League 1 and put them anywhere near our first team squad?

Dwight Gayle.

Dwight Gayle's last appearance for Peterborough was a Championship fixture against Palace.

Dwight Gayle doesn't actually have a single League 1 appearance to his name at any point in his career.

Ipswich might well be a good placement for him? Would give him exposure to the highly competitive championship level of play and further develop his physicality?

Dougie originally came to us from Barnet. No idea what division they were in.

Looks like JRS is going out on loan again with Ipswich playing in the championship.

I really hope nothing is signed until our manager situation is sorted and he has been assessed in pre season. I really hope he would be good enough for OUR squad.

totally agree. Our bench looks very predictable, despite 9 being on it, and subs are usually direct replacements (Mateta for OE, or vice versa etc).

JRS would offer us something different in the last 20 minutes of games.

Don't think he's ready to be a starter but it's a squad game these days.

If his appearances are limited we can always loan him out in January.

Good decision IMO.

Will be great to see if he can make the step up.

He plays in Olise's position so unless we sell Olise JRS wouldn't get that much game time with us.

Also, it may be that the club see Ebiowei, who has already had exposure in the Championship at both Derby and Hull, as the bench option for that position.

I trust the the club to know what's best for JRS's development and if that's a stint at Championship club Ipswich, so be it.
