If for instance Olise were sold reinvesting approx. half that on Clarke would make some sense. Buying from the Championship seems to suit us.

I'd imagine 15-18m plus add ons would be accepted. The same for goes for Jonathan Rowe and Whittaker... I'd VW inclined to go for all 3 if Olise is sold considering we never replaced Wilf either. Other players we definitely seem to be interested in are Ndiaye and Soule. They also seem like good fits. 3 from any of those 5 is the way I'd go.

He features quite heavily in the last season of Sunderland til I die. Comes across as a thoroughly decent young lad, but Sunderland through and through. Not sure if he'd cope with the glitz and glamour of Croydon.

While I note you were responding to a post, perhaps Midland's dry comment stems from a lack of perspective from you as to whether he would be a good fit for us. I personally respect a poster of some years back who said our club is the graveyard of the striker. I can see him being another Banford, not really cutting it here and then scoring a million goals at the next club promoted. Edited by silvertop (21 Feb 2024 10.14am)

My contributions are an amalgam of personal perspective, statistical information etc etc , and communications with an array of people with insight and knowledge whose opinions I respect. For the record, I have in the not too distant past opined about the footballing prowess of Jack Clarke, a player I have seen perform on numerous occasions. Finally,I will refrain from being drawn into a debate whereby I am minded to counter scurrilous accusations, accordingly any further brickbats will go unanswered.

Never mind where he comes from lads, he looks pretty good on these YouTube clips. Mind you, they even make Edouard look good.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |
