Agreed but he is taking this great club backwards. No investment in the team and going back to the manager he sacked 2 years ago!!

What SP knows about football can be written on a packet of Benson and Hedges.

With the greatest of respect, Mr Hodgson was not relieved of his duties, he chose to leave of his own volition.

Apropos investment, Steve Parish works within parameters set by the club.
During his time as Chairman we have been promoted to the PL and this is our 10th season at the pinnacle. We also made an FA Cup appearance.Furthermore the upgrade of the academy is most welcome.
Our fortunes under Steve have improved vastly since those days when a financial crisis almost forced us out of existence.

He simply cannot expect to serve up the crap of his last season and think it'll keep us up. What this team needs above all else is attacking structure and a confidence boost, not 30% possession. Don't start the yard dogs, go for it Roy

I will delude myself that some of the above will happen and go with a watchable 1-0

(IN BOLD) We should get at least, and usually, one per season.

All points noted and supported by me. However, as I have mentioned previously, we have had some great players at Palace but that does not mean I'd wish to see them starting for us now. They've had their time and are now unable to do what we would need them to.

In a similar vein, an argument could be made that Parish has brought us up a level, in fact that is objectively true (10 years in PL). As to the future and even present though, an argument could equally be made that his time has passed and something or someone new is needed given our current position and if we wish to see progress or even maintenance.

I'm not directly making a case for either however would state that both these things can be true at once.

In any instance, I can scarcely bring myself to say it, but I am feeling increasingly confident or hopeful. Let's not damn anything or anyone before this new period has started. Give 'em hell Roy!!!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Think it will be a scrappy game that will just nick 1-0. However more importantly don’t loose it.

A few years back we had a very good run against Leicester beating them 3-0 and 4-1 at their place, and 1-0 and 5-0 at home. I'm not sure why I am bringing that fact up but just thought I'd revive memories of our free scoring days

I think our woeful performance at the King Power Stadium back in October gave us a foretaste of what was to follow.

I keep saying that at some point Palace will surprise us and put in a decent winning performance. Pray that it be next Saturday.

I was at that encounter at Filbert Street, when we were ahead 4-2 at HT and drew 4-4.
I believe the last time we scored 4 goals away from home in the league was last season when we defeated Mr Hodgson's Watford 4-1 !

Yes I remember that game 88 or 89? - was my 1st away match! Pennyfather scored a cracker and George Woods messed up big time out of his area to let Leicester back in it.

I know we've complained about recruitment but Leicester fans must be really pi$$ed seeing Fofana sold and then replaced with Faes and Souttar, who from what I've seen are nowhere near as good, and Schmeichel replaced with a free transfer from the Championship. However, Tetê has looked good since coming in on loan and of course Maddison has been their one shining light. If Iheanacho hadn't been so awful in front of goal this season they might be further up the table. It shows how important one good striker can be. If Vardy was at his peak they'd probably be top 8 right now.

Anyway, regarding our game I think Roy will set up not to lose, it'll be dire, and it'll end 0-0. Of course I really hope I'm wrong and Roy has a much more positive impact.

I was there for both games so I'm the good luck charm but unfortunately I won't be at the match on Saturday

I'm mildly excited about this game. It's Roy I keep telling myself but still there remains a level of positivity. Perhaps it's because I know it's only to the end of the season.
Well back to earth 1-1. They will score first and we will equalise deep into the second half just as the moans become audible around the ground.
