The first player to be banned for simulation in England, in our Home again against Everton in November 2017.

Wasn't that also the game where Ward had the ball booted at him from three inches with resulted in Everton winning 1-2 from the bloody spot it was wasn't it!

This was the game in which Ward was penalised for handball and it was Richarlison who scored from the spot.

It'll be tomkins

Left to be seen who Roy would go with. I cant think of a single reason to go for Tomkins based on what we've seen this season and hopefully Roy agrees. We'll want to push up the pitch and that'll leave Tomkins one on one at times where he gets horribly exposed (see Fulham game). That'll be made even worse if Ward is played alongside him (who Roy always seemed to prefer over Clyne).

I suspect that Mr Hodgson would select the tried and trusted, and experienced Tomkins over Richards.
Tomkins played in over 80 PL games when Mr Hodgson was at the helm.

Roy is quicker than Tomkins these days. He can play nowhere other than central defence and even then he should 4th choice of 4.

If someone shows Roy videos of the games Richards took over from Andersen, he will certainly pick him over Tomkins. Think the American is a decent player that would be useful as right back and in midfield as well.

I suspect Roy will go for tried and trusted experienced players over youth. He knows Ward and Tomkins can do a job even if they are slow and seldom get forward. I love Wardy (and Clyne) but we really do need a younger upgrade and have done for a while. Mitchel on the left frequently gets forward and supports Zaha. If only Olise had a better RB behind him.

If Roy is stupid enough to blindly go for experience over youth then we are going down. I’m referring to Ward and Milo whose attributes in experience are now greatly outweighed by their deficiencies in speed, and general footballing skills.
What makes a good Manager is to know when to play an older player and when to avoid like the plague. I hope Roy’s experience has taught him this judgement call.

Unfortunately Paddy got sucked down this rabbit hole in his big game against Arsenal. By starting with the ‘experienced’ aforementioned duo he condemned us to an avoidable drumming. School boy error.

Richards should have been a regular some time ago.

I, and I believe some others, was of this opinion at least a couple years ago if not longer. I am somewhat resigned to their presence in the team now however.

I hope not, but hardly optimistic.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

To be fair to PV wasn’t Richards injured for most of the time he wasn’t picked? He may have been a little late in being called up but it’s not quite as bad as it may appear.
