Vincent Kompany would be the best choice of those available. Why would he leave Burnley for us?

Hooray, great news, about two months late, pathetic manager, we have a chance to win a game now, Freedman, Derry and Paddy until the end of the season, i am off to bed now, i will sleep soundly now, nite, nite

I have lost all interest in this season. A decent man who was given a difficult brief and not supported by the Board. In all honesty we deserve to go down. Thank you Patrick. I hope SP look at their roles and see whether they should sell the club in the summer. To leave the squad so imbalanced is their fault. My thoughts exactly

A s*** show. What an absolute f***ing disgrace of a s*** show. We finally get ourselves an exciting young manager and we f*** him. I've always stood by the board for the job they've done but this is the last straw, we will never get out of this revolving door of bollocks with the current owners. Feel sorry for Vieira and embarrassed for the fans. And to add insult to injury? Absolutely classic Parish. "The search for a replacement is underway" f*** em. I agree

Very surprised. I thought we were on a "project" that was long term and even if we went down he would see it through. This smacks of short-term panic and not long term planning.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Best news since Hodgson left. Some can blame the owners but when you play the same tactics time and again and pick the same useless lazy players like Schlupp when it's clearly not working your not doing yourself any favours. Theres a team there that, under the right management should have no worries of relegation. Not sure what other players you think PV had to choose from . We were under no or very little threat of relegation under Patrick with the remaining fixtures . That has now become a possibility with a change of manager .

If he’d stayed I reckon we were definitely down. Now I think we have a chance but it’s going to take a real character to lift the mood in the camp if we are going to achieve it. A change of manager should establish whether our forwards are truly rubbish or were simply lacking confidence and underperforming.

Very emotive however I empathise entirely. Who would of thought a squad only half revamped, with a young therefore inexperienced manager, not even close to sufficiently invested in over the summer with an extremely difficult, long run of games, ends up not winning or scoring for months and sack the man first in the firing line. From a football perspective it had to be done however the fact it was allowed to play out as it has is a shambles. PV had to go, he didn't have the answers, but answers are needed for questions that are of the board's making. I'd love to of known what conversations were had between PV and the powers that be. Did they say to him 'Come in, we'll get some young, exciting players for you, but then after that absolutely sod all and you're on your own'. Sacked on St Patrick's Day too, seems almost vindictively ironic.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

harsh? maybe. After a bad run of fixtures, which we all predicted was going to show little return, but losses and abject performances to Villa and Brighton hasn't helped matters. Showed much promise with the way he 'wanted' to play, but rarely got it to tick, but still you could see what he was attempiting. But it's the performances that worry me. the teams appear to be setup to patient, with no real urgency. I'm sorry, but that's the Management's job to instill. and in this Respect he's failed. all those Flair players should Be able to produce chances or efforts on goal, so for me its a tactics and training issue. if it were me, right now, even if it's until the end of The season only, I'd be sounding out Bielsa. At least he'll inject some energy and drive into our players, which is exactly what we are lacing right now. Edited by CrazyBadger (17 Mar 2023 8.59am)

Statistically we averaged more goals under Roy. Did you have as much outrage when we sacked 'young' DeBoer after 4 games? No plan B. Same style, same formation, just rotate the players.
