Whitworth hasn't played for the U23s for a month - assume because he's been with the first team. Also been on the bench for the first team whilst Goodman has started the last few U23s.

Assume Goodman moves to the bench.

And we can’t recall Butland because? A quick flight to Gatwick and an Uber. Surely we didn’t relinquish that option.
If true all this beggars belief.

Best thing we can do for the kid is to genuinely try and score a goal. 'If you concede we lose' would be a very unfair strategy to drop him into.

If Johnstone gets fit before Guaita then we could walk out against Leicester with our 3rd different goalkeeper in 4 games.

Admittedly only seen this kid a few times but looks awful to me. Far too short and let's in goals that average keepers should be easily saving. Goodman on the other hand has been absolutely brilliant when I seen him, again only a few times though.

Hopefully just another internet rumour with no foundations, however if this is true I wish the lad well and hope he has a blinder. But we really shouldn't be in this situation.

It's yet another prime example of how the squad is seriously deficient in cover for positions and those who solely blame Vieira for our predicament really need to look higher up the chain.

Those responsible for squad planning and recruitment have left us short of numbers or quality in so many positions that should we go down I hope SP and the board hold their hands up and admit it is their fault.

How do you know he didn't agree to the move, i dont know if he did and you dont know if he didn't

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

The club had 4 senior goalkeepers at the start of the season. One was sent on loan to Scotland. Then with a third of the season left another, an ex England player, is allowed to go to another Premier club where he is not even needed on the sub’s bench, with no recall option. Inevitably, the two remaining players get injured. The most important position on the pitch and an untried academy player is forced to debut (first time in over 40 years apparently) in a hotly-contested derby match with the threat of relegation looming larger. Add in there is not even a full squad of 25 senior players and no real cover at left back, and this after 10 years of Prem League income. Those who constantly claim the club is well run want to revise their opinion?

Whitworth is a good keeper not the tallest, and Owen Goodman has also impressed.

It's a baptism of fire away to Brighton though, this is the Premier League and Brighton will take advantage.

Still good luck hopefully he will get through the nerves and grow in confidence.

You could not describe it any more succinctly than that. What a total s*** show. Our management reek of incompetence.
