This post has been merged from a topic called 'Akpom (Rumour)' by becky Apparently we are one of a number of clubs looking to sign Akpom for Middlesbrough. He knows where the net is and would definitely be an improvement on Edouard and Mateta in my opinion.

I saw this Warnock quote regarding the deal and I had to share. You have to love him “To get £12.2m for Chuba is a bloody miracle, so well done to him.

Big Dutch football site now says Akpom might be sold by Ajax and they say that Palace is interested among 'other clubs from the Premier League". Player has said that he wants to have a shot at Ajax but Brian Brobbey is their number 9. Has been scoring of the bench in the last few matches.

Ajax allegedly holding out for a profit especially given the prospective buyers are all EPL. c£15m is a fair price for a striker these days. However, if the Wharton deal goes through, I suspect the budget is blown.
