I take a Vitamin D tab each day, and a cod liver oil capsule too. I did ditch the statins a couple of years ago though.

Does anyone remember taking Virol? I've got no idea what it was supposed to be good for, but, as I recall it was some kind of malt extract and tasted foul. Anyway my Mum forced it down me a fair bit. Unsurprisingly it doesn't seem to be around these days.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

When Covid hit I kept bringing up about Vitamin D with many people attacking me. Vitamin D is important but so is the type you take a lot of people are buying versions which are not good at all (You want oil based ones and make sure when you take it it should be with fatty meal also don't fool for the claims of RDA you want very high IU) I see a lot of other posters mentioning taking cod liver oil and other vitamins this you really want to stop if you eat correct diet you don't need to do this unless you have some serious health issues. Cod liver oil is awful stay well clear unless as mentioned above you have serious health issues so you will use very high amounts but for a short period of time an example is brain injury.

I think that you will find that the cod liver oil was being doled out to us kids in the Fifties and not nowadays

I am intolerant of something, couldn't work out what but something went straight through my body. 2 weeks ago I went to Body Zest in Banstead and they took 6 hairs from my leg and sent them off for analysis. Got a 62 page report back. Turns out its 10 things including egg yolks, broccoli, barley, onions and a few other things I rarely eat. Gave up eggs and sausages - filled with Barley and onions in my fry up and I'm fine.
