O Lordie yes! Saturday night was bath night followed by a tablespoon of Californian syrup of figs, so we were clean inside & out...

There was a lot of attention paid to such matters wasn't there? Being "regular" was a major concern.
Andrews Liver Salts used to say, still might, for a refreshing drink add one to two spoonfuls to a glass of water. For a laxative add one to two spoonfuls to a glass of water. So if you want the first you may well get the second.

I take a Vitamin D tab each day, and a cod liver oil capsule too.
No doubt in due course we will be told this is not good for you!

I did ditch the statins a couple of years ago though.

Does anyone remember taking Virol?

I've got no idea what it was supposed to be good for, but, as I recall it was some kind of malt extract and tasted foul. Anyway my Mum forced it down me a fair bit.

Unsurprisingly it doesn't seem to be around these days.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

When Covid hit I kept bringing up about Vitamin D with many people attacking me.

Vitamin D is important but so is the type you take a lot of people are buying versions which are not good at all (You want oil based ones and make sure when you take it it should be with fatty meal also don't fool for the claims of RDA you want very high IU)

I see a lot of other posters mentioning taking cod liver oil and other vitamins this you really want to stop if you eat correct diet you don't need to do this unless you have some serious health issues.

Cod liver oil is awful stay well clear unless as mentioned above you have serious health issues so you will use very high amounts but for a short period of time an example is brain injury.

I think that you will find that the cod liver oil was being doled out to us kids in the Fifties and not nowadays

Nearly everyone is missing the much bigger picture.
In the last 100 years our global population has tripled and in this country doubled.
We are fast moving towards a perilous position economically where millions more are moving below the poverty line. Very soon we will not be able to sustain a good way of life for the masses.
Yet here we are all working out how to live longer.
We are unsustainably over populated yet we bash on totally ignoring the fundamental issue as we incessantly plan to increase numbers through health vitality and old age.
I and others are becoming increasingly concerned of the future near term.
The signs are clearly there but we don’t want to accept them.
Enjoy Saturday night!

I am intolerant of something, couldn't work out what but something went straight through my body. 2 weeks ago I went to Body Zest in Banstead and they took 6 hairs from my leg and sent them off for analysis. Got a 62 page report back. Turns out its 10 things including egg yolks, broccoli, barley, onions and a few other things I rarely eat. Gave up eggs and sausages - filled with Barley and onions in my fry up and I'm fine.
But also low in vitamin D4. (D, D2 and D3 are OK)
Feel better already, go to the loo once a day instead of 3 times.
If you want to go book on [Link] Well worth it
