thanks for putting me straight, but wiki etc say inside forward - Rigsby agrees with you though. I think those players played together in the late 40s - won 4-0 away in Italy (Turin), beat Portugal 10-0 and there was the Lion of Vienna match which you prob know a lot more about than me. But I though that was our best 'W' in the days of 'WM' - the 'famous five'. The Scots had one as well in the 50s, all five played for Hibs including Willie Ormond who managed Scotland in the '74 World Cup.

Only at about 48 years so far, and only see on average 4 games a season so a bit limited, but...

Best Palace Player seen during the last 50: Wilf, at his best was almost unplayable, but sadly not often well-supported.

best player to wear a Palace shirt - agree with Lombardo for this one.

best match seen at Palace - best occasion was Burnley 2-0, had a broken leg in plaster but leapt out of the wheelchair, best performance 5-0 v Leicester in 2018, but best match...not sure as so long ago but maybe 2-3 at Chelsea in 1976 cup run (I also remember watching the fighting as a slightly shocked 8 year old).

best oppo player seen at Palace - must have been some class players in recent years but Cyrille Regis for West Brom always used to scare me. Also saw George Best and Rod Marsh for Fulham, quality but not sure they took it very seriously (was that Ian Evans' injury that game ?)

Worst home match Palace - 0-2 v Wolves when we almost went down in the early 2000's, because it was a crucial game we lost they had a player sent off early and we still never remotely looked like getting back into it (c) season ticket holders tore up their tickets and threw them on the pitch during the game and (d) I took my (then new) wife to Selhurst Park for the 1st time and she's refused to go back ever since !
