I know it is pre 1992 but Everton were in the 2nd tier of English football in the mid 1950s. It's also a shame that Frank's been sacked as they might now get a head coach who can actually do the job!

I was born in 1952 so have no recollection of Everton in the 2nd Tier !
Everton have been in the top tier since season 1954-55.

Checked with Google, relegated in 1929-30 season and 1950-51 season.

Smug Frank has gone - the right decision but probably not good for Palace as Everton may now get out of trouble.
No longer will I have to look at his silly smile every time he is interviewed.
It seems obvious that he is not a good Manager but if he wants to try again then he needs to start right at the bottom - which won't happen.
I don't think we will see him again except as a pundit.

Unless you have Sky, coming to a game near you one of their favourite pundits.

TBF Jim, the first time I ever uttered that sentence the interviewer said 'we asked you to describe yourself in two words'.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Everton is a 'nice little-earner' a private hospital temporary car parking space.

Enjoy and walk away, you are rid of Andy Burnham don't forget.

Why is the Mayor of Greater Manchester (whatever that means) relevant to Everton?

Always suprised me how with Uncle Harry on the end of the phone he hasn't at least made a passable job as a football manager . His sackings at Chelsea and Everton though have now made him a very rich man so maybe some of the advice stuck .

I suppose we will now have to suffer pundit Lampard on various broadcasts telling us how it is .

But this for me is not about Lampard but the basket case of a club that is Everton . Relegation beckons without a new manager bounce but from what Ive seen from that group of players they will need some bounce

And he won't have to go far to get advice on where to hide the money from HMRC.

I think where Lampard started to go wrong was in taking the Chelsea job.

Of course I understand the rationale behind it from his point of view, but to me it smacked of Abramovich appointing him because at the time no ' Marquee ' manager would take the job as Chelsea were under a transfer embargo.

He patently didn't have the experience to sort Everton out, so it's no surprise that he only lasted a year.

I hope they do get Bielsa in. He's all about forward foot intensity, which I don't think would suit the players they have.
