I don't see this happening for multi reasons. 1. They must sell current stake in Palace (I don't hear any stories of people trying to buy the club and not sure many people would want to deal with SP) 2. Why are they still at Palace? (A story before was about them going after Chelsea you would expect if that was true this would have been the time to step away from Palace) 3. Lets remove the other two above and say they are in a group of people I can't see that group even being selected anyway plus the fans I don't think for Utd would accept them. I would like to see them go the clubs needs to look into the future and for this we need clearing out of most of these people and get some in that want to influence and not keep making excuses (If we had one of these Saudi owners for example the ground work would have been done they don't mess about)

I think your logic is flawed and you're ignoring the obvious. Originally posted by grumpymort
I don't see this happening for multi reasons. 1. I don't hear any stories of people trying to buy the club But you do. Textor, IF he can raise the capital required by finding additional investors for his group, clearly wants to buy the club. He's more or less said as much. Originally posted by grumpymort
and not sure many people would want to deal with SP That's irrelevant. If someone acquires a controlling interest in the club and doesn't want to deal with SP, they'll get rid of him. That's easy. Originally posted by grumpymort
2. Why are they still at Palace? (A story before was about them going after Chelsea you would expect if that was true this would have been the time to step away from Palace) Are you seriously asking why are they still at Palace? The answer is that they own the club (or at least a controlling interest) and no matter how much they want to sell and walk away, they can't do that until they have a buyer. Which they don't, yet. So that's why they're still here. Originally posted by grumpymort
3. Lets remove the other two above and say they are in a group of people I can't see that group even being selected anyway plus the fans I don't think for Utd would accept them. What the United fans would or wouldn't accept has nothing to do with anything. The Glazers own the club and they will sell part or all of the club to whoever they want to. Further, Harris and Blitzer are the absolutely ideal solution for the Glazers if indeed they want to retain ownership but also raise additional investment to rebuild Old Trafford. H&B give them the money they need, they give them money from an extremely credible and respected source (Blackstone, in the end), they give them sports ownership pedigree the Glazer's don't have themselves, and they will likely not interfere in the running of the club, as their time at Palace suggests. H&B should be wildly attractive to the owners of Man Utd. They let them have their cake and eat it.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

If this mornings clickbait article has truth in it things could change quite quickly - apparently the Glazers have recently changed their tune a bit, now wanting to sell the whole club & have the deal done by end of Feb - the article goes on to say that any prospective buyer would no doubt have preferred to wait to see if Man Utd qualify for a European place because of the possible increased revenue stream. how much truth there is in it is anyone's guess - Originally posted by sydtheeagle

The Glazers, whether by luck or judgment, appear to have finally hired the right manager and United is on the up. The fan protests have abated as a result, and owning the club is still a license of print money. The bad blood of recent years was likely their primary motivation to sell United; now peace has broken out (even if they're still not exactly popular with the fanbase) why would they let go of such a lucrative asset? Answer: they wouldn't. What they really need is an investor to help fund the stadium rebuild in return for a minority share of the club. Out of the clear blue sky drops the answer to their prayers: Harris and Blitzer. They keep hold of their lucrative asset. United continues to progress on the pitch. Old Trafford is rebuilt. Everybody's happy. The story isn't clickbait. It makes far too much sense for that.

Moving the conversation along then. Would people be happy with H and B selling to Textor ? We already more or less know what life is like with H and B on board, what's the view of Textor taking ownership ?
