I think we all agree his opportunity is long overdue. He strikes me as a pound-shop Gallagher. Doesn't have Conor's threat in the attacking third, but otherwise similar energy, mobility, vision, and timing elsewhere around the pitch.

I hope that performance hasn’t come at the wrong time and offered encouragement to the club not to invest in our midfield.

Big performance from him today, and CD. In Casimero, Bruno and Erikson Utd have a pretty awesome midfield.

Let himself down a handful of times, by giving the ball away after great work to win it back.

Gives the midfield more balance and bite, should 100% be a nailed on starter moving forwards

if we don't give Hughes a bit more respect, some other Prem club might.

I cannot believe some of the mediocrity we have favoured in Midfield.

The point means the whole squad's fine.

I was surprised when we first bought him. Didn't think much of him, mainly because of the club he came from.

But, have been fairly impressed on the few occasions he's been given a game and last night cemented my view that he's our best option. As someone else wrote on here, he's a bit like Conor without a cherry on top. Please give him more games PV. He will only improve and gain more confidence.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

ME TOO. I'm convinced that the owners want to keep their powder dry till the summer. A dangerous gamble IMO, but my fear nevertheless.

After watching Will Hughes last night I ended up very annoyed at the fact that he has not been given any sort of a chance by PV. I wouldn’t mind if he was kept out of the team by Zidane but he has been kept out of the team because PV was determined to turn Schlupp into a football player.

It boils my blood that we have had to endure Schlupp week after week while better players sit there on the bench.

Last night my mate turned to me when leaving and said "Still no goals from open play". Turn it in!!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

He spoke very eloquently after the match.

Isn't he one of the very few public school education footballers? Went to Repton, I believe.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

Indeed Will Hughes attended Repton School.

Patrick Bamford went to an Independent school which specialised in rugby and football was only played in the 6th form.

Are you not going to drop the Bamford Harvard anecdote?
