I only watch match of the day if we win. Not watched it for a while. It also spoils my weekend and for days after Snap. It's either the second best and a critical part of the day or of no relevance whatsoever.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I was having this conversation with a friend of mine recently, he’s a Spurs fan, we both agreed we wish we didn’t like football. I followed Palace for 60 years, I can’t stop now, I’ll go to my grave wearing a Palace shirt My biggest moan in the modern game is players feigning injury, going down holding their face rolling around after a dig in the ribs when they probably get worse playing with their kids ! I don’t get down these days, there’s more to life than football, forget it, move on and enjoy life.

I used to wonder how perennial mid table clubs supporters motivated themselves to go to games. Now Palace are in that position, in my case it's now more the social side than the football itself. Both my children are season ticket holders and I travel to the game with a group of friends from the South Coast. That's what makes it worthwhile for me. Biggest ballache is the train travel which is totally unreliable. But, as Sir Van Morrison once said, '' It's Too Late To Stop Now ''

Yep. I was talking to someone about going to the gym every weekday morning and I said 'It's a f-ing nightmare motivating yourself to actually get up and go but you're always thankful afterwards'. With Palace, it's the other way round - I feel like a kid again with the excitement and build up but it's usually awful and I regret if afterwards, having to work on getting on a train and not throwing myself in front of one as I feel far worse than I did beforehand. The first great love of my life though and I can't change that now. Occasionally, just occasionally, it does bless you with a sense of euphoria that makes all other woes, trials and tribulations completely dissipate for a short period. ... like an injury time, worldy of a free kick to rescue a point against a United team going for 10th win on the bounce. I'll see the week out comfortably now.

I hadn’t realised how miserable / grumpy I was about Palace until that late equaliser last night. We were in my row and in front shaking hands, fist pumping and laughing and hugging each other. Man, it felt good and still does. So, that’s why we go :-)
