agree, Becky.
simple times & definatly better without a lot of todays Tech.

I was the first one in our house as a student to have a remote control for the TV.

I used to have an extendable pool cue beside my chair and poke a button to switch channels without getting up (all 4 of them, back then).

Each button on the TV had a coating of blue chalk on it.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

I don’t know why this made me think of this, but when I was a kid there was a permanent greasy patch on the back of our sofa and the head board of my parents bed where my dads brylcream used to rub off where he put his head

in the 1950s somebody getting divorced would scandalize the whole town.
Today, if a young couple are planning for the retirement-home together, it would be noteworthy on a BBC documentary.

Time Passes. Anybody over the age of 60 will remember playing football/cricket on the streets. The exact same streets that are now permanently chocka with traffic.

Also the exact same streets that now there’s a chance you could get stabbed or bundled into a car by immigrants and used as a sex worker

Your Mum didn't have these on the 3-piece suite?

I recall those bygone days when safe sex was a padded headboard.

Haha eventually I think she did, but it does remind me of being round my mother in laws NOW, god forbid if they’re all screwed up when I stand up

I thought that was when her husband was working away.

At 52 I once engaged in conjugal coupling with a delightful married lady. My dear wife and I lived at 53.

My mother-in-law used to come around every Christmas. One year we invited her in.
