For me he just comes across as a shy kid who doesn't want to be giving hte interview in the first place. I don't get the impression that he is trying to be clever etc, more that this is actually quite difficult for him, and he just wants to answer the questions and escape!

I remember his interview after we beat Millwall in the cup last year - it was about as insightful as this one! The bloke needs some media training as he comes across as a total drip. These sort of interviews don't make you warm to him as a fan. If he's not careful he'll become the butt of jokes like Kane is. But that said, at the end of the day his job is to play football and he'd bloody good at that. Nonsense he comes across as a normal young footballer. Fans "warm" to players who perform well and score amazing goals like he does, not to "media training". He is a footballer not a tv presenter.

Partly true. It's the new norm for Premier League players to be interviewed and in front of cameras/public limelight - it's part of the territory. Eze, for example, is excellent in front of camera's and it reflects well on him as an individual - it show's he has a bit of character. Part of Bolasie's charm was that he always ran around with a grin on his face. All I'm saying is that he is clearly shy/lacks confidence and Palace should help him so he's more comfortable when placed in that situation - which if he keeps playing well, will happen more often.

I couldn't care less about his media training the only skills I care about are on the pitch and if he can score like that on a regular basis that'll do for me and most Palace fans. Leave the "darlings of the media" stuff to Gary Gareth and Eddie Howe.

The camera was on him as fans like to get an insight form the players directly. On this occasion the interviewer asked perfectly reasonable open questions which were deserving of a better answer from someone who has just scored a 94th minute equaliser who you expect to be ecstatic. If someone can pull out the Millwall interview, on that occasion, I would agree that the questioning was poor - all closed questions which got one word responses. As Willo suggests, I think he's very uncomfortable in front of the camera which is fair enough and pretty normal, hence why he would benefit from media training. It would be a good life skill to learn.
He is being paid to play football not be the next Ant and Dec

Some players are naturals in front of the camera right from the offset, others take time to feel comfortable being interviewed. Wilf has never seems to be entirely at ease when a microphone is thrust in front of him. He still sometimes looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights and tends to respond to questions with rather cliched and predictable replies.
