Let’s face it if he had a yard of pace he would be a superstar. Without it he becomes a younger version of Andros but with better set piece delivery.

Oozes class. We just have to be patient with him as he's only young. I don't think it'll be long before the "big clubs" come sniffing. I reckon in another 18 months he'll be a top player. Edited by samprior (16 Oct 2022 8.48pm)

I think that's fair but what he can do with one foot most couldn't do with three. Olise is still young and could work on physicality, 'weaker' foot, tracking back and probably a few more things but he is an outstanding talent, he has both a footballing brain and feet, what a coup. It's not really a case of 'what he can work on' for me, it's 'what can he add [to already an array of highly valuable qualities]' to make him a top, top player. His set piece delivery in itself warrants his place in the team for me.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Last night there were two or three occasions where Wolves had to use three players to stop him and even then they had to foul him. You can tell how good he already is by how serious a threat other teams see him as. He still looks nervous about getting fouled though, which suggests either he is still feeling a bit of pain, or is scared he will. If he steers clear of injuries I have no doubt he'll be a top player for years to come as he already has composure, talent and a wand of a left foot.

I might be out on my own, but apart from that cross. I didn't really think he offered much yesterday. Granted he was heavily marked, but felt there were a couple of opportunities to put the afterburners on get early crosses in but he turned back.

He isn't lightining quick but he is still pretty fast. Perhaps you're right though, may not quite have that burst of pace in him, but he does make up for that with his overall agility. Don't think we can write off his pace just yet though, he's still in his early 20s.

Interesting point this. I wonder how much he can improve. I was fortunate to play at a decent level as a young 'un and we were told that if you weren't a two-footed player by the time you were eight, it was too late to learn. I accept that some people might have one foot so good they don't need the other. But I'm interested in the sports science (or whatever it is) question about whether it is actually possible to improve the weaker foot beyond a certain age. I'm 65 now. Still working on the left foot.

Still working on the left foot. He's not that dissimilar to Mahrez who is also very left-footed. I think it all depends on just how good that one foot is. Also, he does occasionally go on the outside and use his right foot to cross, so I think it's over-exaggeration to say he is one footed. I'd say Mitchell is far more one-footed.

Not really in the game, but an assist. Still young so don't want to be too harsh on the lad, but not influencing the game enough for me
